Hollyoaks actress Niamh Blackshaw showed off her lovely ring with a photobooth strip of her and hubby Angus celebrating their engagement, posted today on Instagram. The couple are co-stars of the UK’s popular soap opera, popular with teens and young adults in the UK, with followers around the world.
Niamh Blackshaw’s engagement ring appears to be a solitaire round-cut diamond set on a gold or platinum band. There are no further details available as of presstime.
Angus Castle-Doughty, well known for his villain role in the series, fell in love with co-star Niamh Blackshaw on set. She started working on the show in 2018, and 4 years later, Angus joined the cast. It was instant chemistry off-screen that developed their relationship for 4 years before Angus proposed to her.

While most British TV fans knew of their off-screen romance, the couple is quite discreet, even up to their engagement announcement. Fans and the press knew the lovely twosome started dating in 2023 when Niamh posted a sweet pic of him and her in front of a Christmas Tree on New Year’s Day.
Angus’ entry to the well-loved British TV soap opera was one of endings and new beginnings. He reflected on his major changes in life in 2022 on Twitter/X, coinciding with the casting in the role, saying, “2022 saw me move to the other side of the country, take the biggest step in my career, a relationship end, and a relationship start. I also bought a sleeveless shirt, so… every cloud.”
Like her hubby co-star, Niamh’s role as Juliet Nightingale started off as a bully against one of the characters of the show, Brooke Hathaway. She later showed a more emotional and vulnerable side as part of her character development; however, ending in tragedy.

Born on November 19, 1998, in Greater Manchester, England, Niamh Blackwell first started as a dancer. She went to the Rossendale Dance and Drama Centre, completing the LAMDA and Trinity exams. She also attended classes in Canon Slade School.
Her acting career started while she was attending the University of Oxford as a part-time student.
In 2017, she starred on the ITV soap opera Coronation Street for 5 episodes. Then on September 4, 2018, she joined the cast of Hollyoaks in her breakthrough role as Juliet Nightingale, the daughter of major character Donna-Marie Quinn and half-sister of Romeo Nightingale.
She also starred in short films and TV series such as Snapcatch, Hide, The Jetty, Waterloo Road, and Ellis.
Angus Castle-Doughty, born on February 12, 1995, studied English, Theatre, and History at Dulwich College in South London. He graduated with high ratings in 2013 with three As. He also graduated in 2017 with high honours from the University of Warwick.
His experience in theatre productions led him to co-found the Incognito Theatre company, serving as artistic director and in other important roles.
Angus made his first acting debut in 2011 in Teechers, a stage production at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre. In 2014, he starred in his onscreen television film debut on The First Great Escape.
Among the high-profile theatre works he did were The Government Inspector, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Net Kill, and All Quiet on the Western Front. He also appeared on Netflix shows, Shadow and Bone and The Sandman.
His breakthrough role in Hollyoaks in 2018 was Eric Foster, an incel villain, and the lost brother of main characters Tony and Verity Hutchinson, which sparked up the series.
