I spoke with the renowned Estate Diamond Jewelry’s resident head gemologist and antique jewelry specialist Benjamin Khordipour, regarding some top celebrity luxury pieces. He takes us through a celebrity A-list of emerald cut engagement ring owners. Each has a story, along with wow-factor specifications that match this beautiful jewelry.
1. Grace Kelly
Grace Kelly was an American glamor icon and a Princess of Monaco, and one of the most prominent owners of an emerald cut engagement ring. Prince Rainier III of Monaco proposed to her with this 10.48-carat Cartier sparkler as a sign of his fervent love and devotion.
The diamond comes with two tapered baguettes in a bezel setting and a platinum band with a three-stone style design. Before this, the prince gifted her with an already lavish Cartier ring with rubies and diamonds. According to Mr. Khordipour, this historical piece is valued today at over $4 million.
2. Elizabeth Taylor
Elizabeth Taylor is an alumnus of the classic Hollywood era of the 1950s. Men have fallen over her charm and graceful personality for decades. During the filming of one of her classic films, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”, producer Mike Todd professed his love with this massive, 30-carat emerald-cut diamond crowned atop a platinum band ring.
She told the press that “When Mike bought me my engagement ring, he said it was 29 and 7/8th carats because 30 would have been vulgar”. Khordipour places the current value of this ring at $5 million.
3. Beyoncé
“If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it”. Beyoncé’s lyrics clearly state very valuable love and life advice that speaks volumes. Jay Z had to make sure he did the right thing with the right ring. He commissioned top jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz to create this masterpiece.
Khordipour notes that Beyoncé’s ring is a spectacular 24-carat emerald-cut rare diamond with a split shank design and adorned with pavé diamonds. It is a flawless diamond with perfect clarity, now worth $5 million.
4. Paris Hilton
Hilton Empire heiress and fashion queen Paris Hilton is the owner of this 20-carat diamond ring, now worth $2 million, as flaunted prominently on her Instagram posts. Her husband, Carter Reum, made sure his proposal ring embodies his lifetime promise and love. He even named it after her. Now “That’s Hot”. Jean Dousset, the great-great-grandson of the renowned jeweler Cartier, designed the emerald-cut diamond ring. It features baguette and trapezoid diamonds on a platinum band.
5. Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey’s 35-carat diamond engagement ring is the penultimate “Vision of Love”. It’s one of the most expensive pieces of celebrity jewelry. Our jewelry expert places its value at $10 million. The emerald cut center stone diamond features tapered baguette diamonds on both sides with a platinum band. The stunning and luxurious piece stirs “Emotions”, leaving anyone “Obsessed”.
Alas, things didn’t work out with now ex-fiancé James Packer. She later sold the ring, a closure statement that “If It’s Over”, one has to let go. Still, it remains the most talked-about piece of celebrity rings, generating over 60,000 Google searches all over the internet.
6. Amal Clooney
Amal Clooney is one of the most high-profile human rights lawyers in the international scene. When George Clooney proposed to her, he presented her with a 7-carat emerald-cut diamond ring with two tapered baguette diamonds on a platinum ring. It features a three-stone style design, which is reminiscent of Grace Kelly’s engagement ring. Despite being somewhat elusive in public, many fans delight in spotting the ring online in rare instances. According to our gemologist, it’s valued at $500,000.
7. Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman is another celebrity who couldn’t resist the charms of an emerald-cut diamond ring, replacing her unique Cartier ring adorned with multiple diamonds. Keith Urban proposed to her with this 5-carat emerald-cut ring worth $150,000. It is also a high-level diamond with an I-F color and VS1 clarity, atop claw-style prongs and two tapered baguette diamonds on each side. Kidman’s new ring matches her beauty and aura and is worth more than the already hefty-priced Cartier, which was $50,000.
8. Jennifer Lopez
J. Lo’s engagement ring matches her solid gold hits around the world. Our jewelry specialist says that the ring featured on her fiancé Alex Rodriguez’s Instagram post is worth at least $1 million. The embodiment of stunning beauty and clarity, the emerald-cut ring features a 15-carat center diamond, framed with tapered baguettes on a platinum band.

To make Brangelina happen, Brad Pitt pulled out all the stops to have specialists craft Angeline Jolie’s 16-carat diamond ring for his full-devotion proposal. Behind it was a whole-year process with top jewelry designer Robert Procop to create it. Its gorgeous Art Deco-style design is of timeless beauty with a sizable central emerald-cut stone. Surrounding it are trapezoid and baguette side diamonds on its elegant, wide platinum band. Its current value is at $250,000.
11. Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich’s brief but intense love affair included a stunning and memorable proposal ring that fans will remember. Top Beverly Hills celebrity jeweler Peter Marco crafted it with a three-stone style design.
It features a huge 10-carat emerald-cut center diamond with left and right trapezoid accent diamonds. According to Khordipour, this piece is around $1 million. Despite both ex-lovers forgetting those days gone by, it remains in the hearts of many fans and online searches, because the internet is forever.
12. Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway may be married to top jewelry designer, Adam Shulman, but she knows what she wants when it comes to the perfect engagement ring. She commissioned top jewelry specialist Greg Kwiat of the Kwiat Jewelry Company in New York for one of the most elegant engagement rings.
Hathaway’s custom piece features an elongated, emerald-cut 6-carat diamond on a thin platinum pavé band adorned with smaller diamonds. Khordipour values this custom piece at around $150,000.
13. Gwen Stefani
Rock royalty Gwen Stefani also possesses one of the top custom-designed celebrity rings that she received from Blake Shelton. His proposal came with a glam emerald-cut 7-carat diamond. It’s in the classic, three-stone style, Art Deco-inspired design. Around its solitaire-styled square diamond are two trapezoid side diamonds on both sides, crowned on top of a platinum band with a six-pronged foundation and a classic, vintage style.
14. Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson’s love story began when her fiancé, Matt Bellamy, frontman of the band Muse, proposed to her in 2011 with this beautiful emerald-cut piece. The center stone is a square-cut champagne-colored diamond with left and right tapered baguette diamonds on a rose gold band.

The lovely lady he fell in love with proudly showed off her stunning engagement ring with an emerald cut diamond on a split shank-style, platinum pavé band, with specs and price undisclosed. It’s estimated to be around $100,000, or more.
19. Nicola Peltz
Nicola Peltz said yes to Brooklyn Beckham with one of the most striking 5-carat diamond rings. It is a gorgeous solitaire emerald cut gem thin pavé band ring surrounded by smaller diamonds. Later, after they wed, they upgraded it with a 10-carat oval diamond ring with trilliant-cut diamonds on each side, which is now valued at $1.85 million.
20. Kim Kardashian

The queen of quiet luxury and the music mogul married in 2023.
23. Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum’s engagement ring is as unique as her elite status as a top model. Her engagement ring features an eclectic, rare center stone: a stunning, 4-carat green alexandrite gemstone. Who couldn’t resist John and the beautiful 4-carat emerald-cut diamond, perfect for their fairy tale love story sealed by Disneyland’s magical feels. Top jeweler Neil Lane designed this romantic piece, with a three-stone configuration of two side diamonds on a platinum band.
28. Vicky Pattison
British media and TV personality Vicky Pattison’s engagement ring from his fiancé Ercan Ramadan in Dubai sealed their profession of love. It matches the couple’s commitment to life and love together on social media, with a beautiful emerald-cut diamond in a solitaire setting and a platinum band, valued at around $250,000. However, weeks before the wedding, a thief stole it while they were on a train bound for Newcastle.
