Christina Hendricks and her fiancé George Bianchini announced they are engaged after a year and a half of dating. The actress and her boyfriend decided to take the pressure off of one person to do the act, and they proposed to each other. No one got on one knee, or they both did.

She captioned the engagement picture on Instagram, saying, “We proposed to each other, and we said yes!!! I will love and care for him forever.” She further explained this proposal was “twice as romantic.” In the photo, George is hugging Christina, and the engagement ring is in the frame too.

After the announcement, the congratulatory messages overflowed the comments sections of the photo. A lot of famous people were among the well-wishers, including their colleagues from the film industry.

Her co-stars from the series “Mad Men,” January Jones and Alison Brie, shared their happiness regarding this news. Retta, Mae Whitman, Neil Patrick Harris, Anna Camp, and Kat Dennings were just some of the people who congratulated the newly engaged couple. Apart from the celebrities, her huge fan base of over a million followers also wished Christina and George a happy life together.

Her stunning engagement ring is also visible in the pictures Christina posted on Instagram two days after the engagement. She co-hosted an Oscars after-party on March 12, and the ring was one of the attendees.

When Did the Couple Meet?

Christina first met her husband-to-be, George, at “Good Girls” filming in 2018. Christina played Beth Boland in the series while her fiancé was a camera operator. At that time, Christina was married to another actor, Geoffrey Arend, known for his goofy role in the movie “500 Days of Summer.” Christina and Geoffrey were married for 10 years but divorced in 2019.

Even though they met in 2018, Christina and George were first romantically linked two years after the actress’ divorce. In November 2021, the newly engaged couple was spotted at the Christian Siriano exhibition at Savannah College.

In October 2022, Christina shared Instagram photos of her and George’s trip to Scotland. She wore Scottish national wear and made her fiancé put on a kilt himself. She captioned the pictures “She wore all her Scottish fineries and therefore felt no guilt for convincing her fella to slip into a kilt.”

Christina has always kept her dating life on the down low, while George has a private Instagram account. So, for the most part, their relationship remained out of the spotlight.

Their Careers

Christina starred in many films and TV shows since her career began. She’s appeared in “Good Girls,” “Mad Men,” “American Woman,” “Another Period,” and more. Apart from her acting career, she had a modeling career, too, working with famous brands.

Her husband-to-be has also been in the film industry for quite some time. George was a cameraman for 12 years, working in many notable films such as “P.S. I Love You,” Netflix’s “Inventing Anna,” “The Peripheral,” and “Wet Hot American Summer,” to name a few.

Let’s Hear More About the Ring

From the looks of it, Christina’s ring may be an actual platinum ring from the early 1900s. It has a vintage-inspired design with a round diamond surrounded by pavé stones. This engagement ring features an etched scroll band.

Considering the possibility of Christina’s engagement ring being from the 1900s, it means it belongs to Edwardian Era. The engagement rings from this period featured intricate, lacy designs. Many from this era were mostly platinum and had peculiar metalwork. The designs featured scrolling, ribbons, and vines.

Christina’s ring may have a vintage-inspired design, which differs from a vintage ring. A vintage-inspired engagement ring is a modern piece with a particular stone or design that gives it a vintage appearance. Since we don’t know whether Christina’s ring was from the 1900s or has a vintage appearance, both possibilities are explained here.

The Cut

The round cut diamond has been famous for a long time. It became of public interest in the early 1900s. Since then, the round cut has remained the most common for engagement rings, especially as diamond-cutting techniques advanced.

There are many ways to call a round cut in the diamond industry, including round-shaped diamonds and brilliant round cut. Brilliance in the round cut diamonds is one of the reasons it’s often chosen for an engagement ring. The brilliance is what makes the diamond sparkle. It’s the amount of light that is reflected off the center stone’s table. The diamond’s fire is also vital for a round cut engagement ring. The fire of the diamond is the amount of colored light reflected.

Round diamonds are also versatile, so they are a good choice for a diamond engagement ring with a modern or vintage look. They are an excellent option for accent diamonds and diamonds in a pavé setting. And since it’s been around for centuries, round diamonds may stay popular in the future, too, considering their timeless appearance.

Clarity and Color

The most important thing about clarity in round cut diamonds is choosing an eye-clean diamond. Also, paying attention to the location of blemishes or inclusions is vital. They won’t be as noticeable if they are on a center stone’s perimeter. This way, you can choose an eye-clear diamond with a lower clarity grade and save money.

For example, even though VVS2 has a higher clarity rating than VS1, the difference between the two won’t be noticeable, as both appear eye-clean and inclusion-free.

The level of tint within a diamond will depends on which color grade you choose. However, the difference between the two adjacent color grades is barely noticeable, so opt for the lower grade when possible.

The Pavé Setting

Christina’s round center diamond is surrounded by pavé stones, which means the ring’s shank features small diamonds in linear order. The small diamonds are held down with prongs or beads. The pavé setting is versatile as it can look good on modern, antique, or vintage-inspired engagement rings. This setting brings the center stone into the spotlight; it accentuates the ring’s brilliance and beauty and adds sparkle.

How Much Is the Ring Worth?

This engagement ring with a round center diamond is estimated to be worth $80,000. However, only a little is known about this ring, except for the cut, setting, and vintage look.

We contacted The Wedding Scoop Jewelry experts to estimate Christina Hendrick’s engagement ring. They assessed the diamond ring to be worth $ …
