David’s Lovely Proposal and Christine Brown’s Engagement Ring
Life sometimes makes us realize that love is never too late, and when you least expect it, you just might end up finding it in the least likely circumstances!
Months after meeting David online, Christine finally met him in December 2022 in person, and after dating and hanging out, they realized they were the ones meant for each other.
David proposed to her on April 13, 2023, while they were on vacation in Utah, on an ATV ride. They stopped at a very picturesque mountainside view where David got on one knee and proposed to her.
Christine Brown’s engagement ring features a 2.5-carat marquise-cut diamond in a north-south setting, with 3 intertwined metal bands of silver, gold, and black.
Christine recalled that magic moment on Today: “So I’m posing with David, and then David goes, ‘This is my favorite place in all of the world, and you’re my favorite person to be with. So you know how we talked about getting married? All the good times we’ve had so far. Well, I’d like to marry you.”
“I want to marry you too!” Christine replied.
How Much Is Christine Brown’s Engagement Ring?

Our phone conversation with Benjamin Khordipour, G.D., the Gemological Institute of America-certified gemologist and jewelry specialist of NYC’s Estate Diamond Jewelry, helped us with a professional look at the ring.
Benjamin put the price at $90,000.
The ring’s gorgeous marquise-cut diamond is a high-quality 2.5-carat piece, with an elaborate 3-band ring in 3 different colors. The combination of these elements is the main factor for its high valuation as well.
Christine and David’s Epic Love Story
It seems that Christine and David were meant to be. The strange but adorable coincidences started in their childhood and also involved their relatives. She revealed these in her memoir, Sister Wife.
When they were teenagers, they attended the same wedding in Mexico. This was over 40 years ago, before they reconnected and fell in love! Her aunt also married David’s best friend.
She recalled these early life moments with People, “His parents knew my grandpa. We both have memories of the colony in Mexico, where my mom’s mom lived for a short time. “We definitely went to the same wedding when I was fourteen: my mom’s sister married David’s best friend.”
Christine’s paternal grandfather, Rulon C. Allred, knew David’s parents. In fact, he trained his Dad in childbirth delivery, and later helped deliver David’s siblings.
She recounted their parents’ stories, saying, “[He] taught David’s dad how to deliver babies as he delivered two of David’s sisters. When David was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, David’s dad knew to loop in and unhook it before the baby is born because that’s what my grandpa taught him to do, so some of Grandpa’s love and knowledge was part of my husband’s birth.”.
“I don’t know that I believe in signs, but I do believe in connections and love,” she added.
These are not mere coincidences but family connections that were there all along.
Finding Each Other
She broke up with her husband, Kory Brown, in November 2021. It was her first long-term relationship and her plural marriage with three other wives on the reality show. They had 6 children together.
She said she wasn’t in a hurry to find love again and told Today, “If there happens to be a love of my life, boom! Sign me up. Of course, I’d love a love of my life. That would be great. But probably not yet. My energy’s not quite right for that situation.”
In January 2023, she opened up publicly about finding love again. She even asked for advice for dating in her ’50s.
Kody expressed his support for her ex-wife on Yahoo News, saying, “Christine and I were better friends than we were lovers, and I’m very glad she’s had this experience. And I got to tell you, it’s been a real relief, because I literally watch the show now and hope it’s more about Christine and David than about the rest of us, because they’re falling in love, and it’s cute.”
Christine and David met through the single parents’ dating app, Stir, in October 2022. They met in person in December. She and David only became Instagram-official on Valentine’s Day 2023, after she realized she had found the one.
“I finally found the love of my life, David. The first time he held me close, it felt like my soul took its first breath. He’s wonderful and kind, incredible with my children, and an adorable grandpa. I never dreamed I could find a love like this.”
David posted his own Valentine’s Day dedication to his love, with an adorable photo of them: “My Queen.”
