Emma Roberts is now married to Cody John! Fans and the press worldwide fell in love anew over the two actors and their adorable outdoor wedding last weekend, Saturday, July 25.
With a pretty outdoor set design of white, pink, and orange flowers meshed with lush greens against a backdrop of natural rocks as contrast, the sweethearts exchanged their vows of forever love.
Emma wore a gorgeous Monique Lhuillier dress, and she looked immaculate.
Her dress was a lovely sleeveless, strapless all-white silk chiffon outfit. It had a draped-over transparent layer on her right shoulder with an upper edge of lovely lace.
The dress also had a fitted corset with boning, with layered draped stylings in the upper skirt, followed by a pleated lower half with a sexy side slit cutaway. A mid-length veil with a thick lace edge that covers her face in illusion lace completed the dress.
Cody was handsome, towering, and stately in his brown suit, white undershirt, and bow tie, wearing black leather shoes.
Among the guests at the intimate wedding were Emma’s aunt, Julia Roberts, and her husband Danny Moder. Paparazzi caught a small glimpse of them arriving hours before the fabulous event in Idaho.
The couple had an intimate rehearsal dinner the night before, pre-celebrating with close family and friends. Emma had a cute white tote bag with the words “hitched” emblazoned on it.
A week before her wedding, Vogue covered her dress fitting with Monique Lhuillier at her LA bridal salon. The top wedding dress and fashion designer created two outfits for Emma, one for the wedding ceremony, and one for the reception.
Both dresses are a beautiful and contrasting pair.
Monique Lhuillier’s Dresses and Fitting Session
Emma and Monique Lhuillier together had the fitting with Emma’s entourage. In attendance were sisters Brit and Kara Elkin, her stylists and bridesmaids, who collaborated with Monique in the creation of her dresses. Emma’s mom, Kelly Cunningham, sister Grace Nickels, cousins Charlotte Long and Daphne Merrymen, represented her family, plus her close friends Ally Gasparian and Lily Kershaw.
Speaking to Vogue, she explained that “I didn’t really know what I wanted. I just knew that I wanted it to feel very vintage-inspired. I’m obsessed with antique books and treasure hunting, and I love collecting old ephemera, so I really wanted that to shine through in the dress.”
Even the outfit’s color was not the traditional pure white bridal dress. Instead, it is a rose-tinged off-white, made to look slightly antique and full of old-school charm.
“I kind of wanted to look like a ghost—a little antique ghost doll,” she added.
They cheered on as they saw the final wedding ceremony dress, which featured a Chapel-train Watteau-style voilette with a laced edge that she can draw down and draw back up to look like a beautiful headband.
Monique said about the process, “This gown took nine months to make, and I would say it took close to 1000 hours to complete. The beauty of this dress is it keeps transforming throughout the night. There are five looks in this dress.”
Monique created the reception dress from her 2004 fall collection. It’s an archival style that features a two-piece outfit with a strapless, sleeveless black corset top made from Chantilly lace. It has a tea-length, hand-cut layered silk organza skirt.
Emma, Monique, and the whole entourage later celebrated with champagne.
Emma and Cody: From Engagement to the Altar
The twosome dated for 2 years before Cody got down on one knee and proposed to her on July 16, 2024. The adorable couple commemorated their engagement on Instagram, and she captioned it with, “Putting this here before my mom tells everyone ❤️.”
Cody proposed to her with an enthralling, Victorian-style engagement ring featuring a 6-carat, solitaire round brilliant-cut diamond prong-set in a thick, grooved-style engraved 18k yellow-gold band with tapered shanks.
