Off-White’s Virgil Abloh designed Hailey Bieber’s dress for her second wedding to Justin Bieber. The custom-fitted piece was a traditional fitted off-the-shoulder mermaid gown with long lace sleeves. The chiffon veil, when spread out on the grass, had a hidden message for the couple’s social media fans.
Like many celebrity couples, Hailey and Justin married a second time in 2019 to say their vows in front of their many famous friends. The wedding took place at a 20,000-acre luxury resort in South Carolina. Not much is known about the private event except that the Jenners, Usher, Katy Perry, and Ed Sheeran were in attendance.

Hailey and Bieber’s Rocky Road to the Altar
Like many young superstars in love, Hailey and Justin’s relationship had a rocky start. They met in 2009 on the Today Show when Hailey was only 12. Hailey’s dad, Stephen Baldwin, photographed them together backstage. Baldwin took a second photograph of Hailey and Justin in 2011, after which Hailey tweeted her love for his girlfriend Selena Gomez.
The two began hanging out together after attending a service at Hillsong church. They both denied dating each other at first. Justin posted an Instagram photo of them both on December 15th, 2014, and insisted they were just good friends.
More photos surfaced in 2015 of the pair celebrating New Year’s together, and sharing a vacation in Mexico. On December 31, 2015, after a performance one of Leonardo Di Caprio’s parties in St. Barts, Justin posted an Instagram photo of him kissing Hailey.
Together but Not Together
By 2016, Justin publicly expressed his desire to avoid relationships for the moment. Hailey told E! News that the couple loved each other, but they were not exclusive. The couple split up while Justin had a six-week affair with Sofia Richie, and after the affair he reunited with his ex, Selena Gomez.
After a two-year relationship pause, the couple reunited at a Hillsong Church conference in Miami. Justin then blasted social media with news of their reunion, posting pictures of them together in Brooklyn, Miami, and the Hamptons.
Justin and Hailey’s Civil Ceremony
Justin proposed to Hailey in the Bahamas on July 9, 2018. He also declared on Instagram that Hailey was the love of his life and that he received guidance from the Holy Spirit. The two then married in a humble civil ceremony in New York City that was not witnessed. This was followed by the “real” second wedding in at the Montage Palmetto Bluff Resort on September 30, 2019.
Hailey Walks The Runway for Off-White
Hailey chose Virgil Abloh of Off-White to design her gown because both she and Justin are long-time fans of the hip, accomplished designer. Hailey was also a runway model for Off-White and Bieber is often spotted wearing Abloh’s giant hoodies or oversized T-Shirts.
Virgil Abloh’s Vision for Hailey Bieber’s Wedding Dress
Virgil Abloh is an edgy, established multi-media artist who specializes in street fashion. He is a respected modern architect who was also once the men’s fashion director for Louis Vuitton.
Famous for his hoodies with overly long cuffs the extend over the hands, Virgil added a similar element to Hailey’s dress by adding over-the-cuff length lace applique sleeves. He covered the dress with evenly spaced machine-cut appliques over lace.
The social-media-conscious creator put his personal stamp on the dress by embellishing the long sheer train with foot-high block letters reading “Till Death Do Us Part.” This was an iconic Jenny Holzer style of bold graphic with the word “til” being purposefully misspelled.
What Is Hailey Bieber’s Wedding Dress Worth?
The cost of Hailey Bieber’s wedding dress was $60,000. Hailey also wore Tiffany jewelry, including an 18-karat gold band with a double row of diamonds valued at $3,125. This matched an 18-karat gold and diamond engagement ring worth $2,150. Justin wore a plain 18-karat gold wedding band worth $950.
A Detailed Look at Hailey Bieber’s Wedding Dress
Hailey Bieber’s mermaid-cut wedding gown appears traditional, until you take a closer look. Made entirely of chiffon, with lace appliques spaced so evenly they seem digital, the dress is also precisely cut, with the hem draping to the ground in a fluted tulip shape.
The dress narrows from the knees and the massive chiffon foot train is attached. The bride’s wedding veil was head-band style and fringed with appliques.
The bride’s white six-inch Jimmy Choo stiletto sandals were hidden by her floor-length gown and massive train.
