Naomi Watts’ engagement ring features a 2.5-carat, marquise-cut diamond, set on a pavé gold band.
The couple is quite private with their personal lives, limiting access only to close family and friends. No details exist on when and where their proposal took place.
The public first knew of the engagement when her friend, actress Molly Ringwald, congratulated her during an afternoon panel discussion. Naomi was the speaker at a menopause symposium for her Stripes menopause wellness brand on March 11, 2023.
Later, the press got a better view of her lovely engagement ring when they spotted her wearing it while walking in New York on April 27.

Our phone conversation with the Gemological Institute of America-certified jewelry specialist Benjamin Khordipour G.D. from NYC’s Estate Diamond Jewelry gave us more information on Naomi’s engagement ring. He placed its value at over $50,000.
The celebrated marquise cut stands out from the common round or oval style diamond. It gives a slimmer and more elegant appearance to the wearer’s finger, with a more uncommon elongated visual.
Its solitaire setting also makes the thin, elongated look of this diamond more pronounced.
The pairing of a pavé gold ring and its north-south setting creates a perpendicular style. There’s also more added sparkling power. This combination also gives off a warm tone as the diamond and gold band interact with light reflections.
Cut quality is essential in marquise-cut diamonds. Problems such as the bowtie effect (or the presence of shadows in wider oval-shaped diamonds) and a narrow cut can happen.
Naomi and Billy’s Love Story
Our lovely duo first officially met on November 9, 2009, at the 24 Hour Plays on Broadway benefit show. They hung out at the afterparty, though Naomi was still dating actor Liev Schreiber then.
It wasn’t until they worked together again in the Netflix series Gypsy, in September 2016, that the two renewed their interest in each other. They are single again at the same time, paving the way for them to rekindle the initial sparks between them.
