The Jennifer Lopez Engagement Ring

Rumors of Bennifer (or Jfleck?) rekindling their romance became big news in 2021, after decades of being apart. By 2022, a second Jennifer Lopez engagement ring appeared in the media to confirm the inevitable: Ben and J.Lo were together again.
Their second engagement and ring prove it’s a lovelier second time for both. It happened that Saturday night on April 8, 2022. J.Lo was having a bubble bath at home when Ben got on one knee, offered her the ring, and popped the question.
The Bennifer 2002 engagement ring featured a 6.1-carat radiant-cut pink diamond designed by Harry Winston. It has two white baguette diamonds and an engraving of the word “Sing”, and a current value of $2.5 million.
The Jennifer Lopez engagement ring in 2022 is a bigger, more beautiful upgrade, and more expensive. It has an 8.5-carat, light green diamond with two half-moon trapezoidal diamonds on each side, atop a platinum ring. Under it is an engraved phrase: “Not.Going.Anywhere”.
How Much is It?

For expert evaluation, we called trusted jewelry specialist Benjamin Khordipour, from top New York jewelry dealer Estate Diamond Jewelry, for his analysis of the ring. He says the Jennifer Lopez engagement ring costs from $5 to $10 million. Its pricing and rarity make it more valuable than its confirmed total value from a few years back.
Ilan Portugali of Beverly Hills Diamond sourced the rare gem, and Rahaminov Diamonds designed and laid out the diamond on the ring. Yellow-green diamonds at this size and carat are rare. It’s the reason for the heavier price tag. It’s also J. Lo’s lucky color, making it the perfect ring for the R&B pop superstar.
Ben Affleck proposed to Jennifer Lopez twice: once in 2002, and twenty years later. Each of his proposals came with a different Jennifer Lopez engagement ring.
These rings are off-market, and Jennifer still owns the second one as part of the divorce settlement with Ben. She also owns the first one. That’s a double win with two iconic rings.
Ben’s Proposals
The couple first met on the set of Gigli, a romantic comedy movie pairing them. Despite still being married to Chris Judd, he and Affleck had instant chemistry.
J. Lo talked to Variety in 2024 about working with him, saying, “They did a read-through of the whole thing, and I remember just walking in. I think he was outside smoking a cigarette, and I saw him, and we just talked for a minute, and I sat down, and we did the read-through.”
I don’t remember a whole bunch more about it, but I remember being on the set with him every day and loving it,” she added.
There were already rumors of dating and hanging out becoming known to the public during this time. The movie seemed to bank on their chemistry. It bombed at the box office, though. But Ben and Jennifer found themselves in love.
In a Deadline interview back in 2024, Ben looked back on the movie, saying, “I got a big cash payday for that. Well, it doesn’t feel right in retrospect because they lost money. It wasn’t the biggest money-losing movie in history, even though it was the most famous bomb in history, perhaps. Nonetheless, that doesn’t sit right with me.”
Without the movie, Ben and Jennifer also wouldn’t have had the chance to meet and hangout everyday. “And I did get to meet Jennifer, the relationship with whom has been really meaningful to me in my life”, he added.
Ben and J.Lo soon got engaged after the movie. For the special second Jennifer Lopez engagement ring, Affleck gave her a fancy pink diamond ring designed by Harry Winston. Ben proposed to her in his mom’s house in Boston, Massachusetts, and he decorated the interior with candles, bouquets, and vases, while her favorite song, “Glad”, was playing.
Ben’s choice of colored diamonds became a trend in engagement rings. They are not as popular or as common as clear diamonds.
