A Rockstar Proposal Approved by the Prince of Darkness
Slipknot DJ and longtime member Sid Wilson got on one knee and proposed to his beau, TV celebrity, singer, and fashion designer Kelly Osbourne, on July 5, 2025. And, it’s a dazzling piece of exquisite art
They were backstage during Ozzy Osbourne’s final Black Sabbath concert in Birmingham, England. Sid did so in front of Kelly’s parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, and their family and friends.
Ozzy, of course, injected some of his trademark humor and joked, “F off, you’re not marrying my daughter!” which had everyone in stitches. Family and friends erupted in celebration after Kelly accepted and said yes.
The custom ring is a direct reference to Kelly’s nickname, given to her by Sid and celebrity reporter Joan Rivers, “Honeybee”. It’s a fabulous creation by the renowned jewelry company Mouawad, which has been in the luxury jewelry industry since 1890.
At the center is a beautiful 2.5-carat round-cut diamond, with a D to F color and VVS clarity level. This custom and very intricate 18K yellow gold ring features white and yellow hexagonal diamonds and citrines scattered artfully in the thick honeycomb halo. The north, south, east, and west points of the halo feature an elegant floral motif of marquise and round-cut diamonds.
How Much Does Kelly’s Ring Cost?
In our phone conversation with Benjamin Khordipour, a GIA-certified gemologist and jewelry specialist from Estate Diamond Jewelry, he assessed this very high-profile ring with a modern and artsy design. He set the price at $110,000.
Many factors influence this very high price tag. For one, the center diamond is of high quality. VVS2 is Very Very Slightly Included 2 and is a premium grade stone. The D to F color range is near flawless.
Second, the intricate work by legendary jewelry specialists at Mouawad also pushes its price and value higher, as their masterful work shines on its very gorgeous, intricate, and innovative design.
Kelly and Sid’s Love Story
Born in London on October 27, 1984, to heavy metal icon Ozzy and his lifelong love and manager, Sharon Osbourne, Kelly is no stranger to the music industry and showbiz. Like her siblings, she grew up travelling with her parents and family on her dad’s world tours.
She rose to superstar fame and became a household name when she became a part of her family’s MTV reality show, The Osbournes, from 2002 to 2005.
Kelly later released two albums, Shut Up in 2002, and Sleeping in the Nothing in 2005. Since then, she entered the world of fashion design endeavours with Fashion Police, her own clothing line, Stilleto Killers, and serving as a judge on Project Runway Junior, among others.
Sid Wilson is a member of the extreme metal band Slipknot, from Des Moines, Iowa, who rose to notoriety in the global metal scene. His famous designated band name is #0 since joining the band as their ninth member on turntables and keyboards in 1998.
Shortly after joining, the band got signed to Roadrunner Records with a seven-album deal and an advance of $500,000.
Sid also plays as the solo jungle/drum and bass artist DJ Starscream.
Ozzfest Love
Kelly and Sid first met during the 1999 edition of Ozzfest. The powerful annual metal festival founded by her mom and dad became a heavy metal festival staple. When the popular music festival Lollapalooza rejected Sharon’s proposal to include Ozzy in it, they created their own metal fest.
The heavy metal backdrop of this celebrated festival served as the setting for this very epic love story.
Slipknot was one of the main support bands at the 1999 festival. They played with Fear Factory, (Hed) p.e., Static-X, Puya, Drain S.T.H., Pushmonkey, Apartment 26, and Flashpoint.
The headlining bands were Black Sabbath, Rob Zombie, Slayer, Deftones, Primus (with Buckethead on select dates), System of a Down, and Godsmack.
The two became fast friends, which served as the base of their budding relationship. They kept in touch over the years.
By Sid’s 45th birthday in 2022, they confirmed their long-brewing relationship on Instagram with Kelly’s photos. In November 2022, they welcomed their son, Sidney.
Kelly later told E! News, “I’m a mom now, I love it. It’s the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
Kelly plans to raise Sidney the same way her dad, Ozzy, did in the 80s and 90s.
Speaking with PEOPLE, Kelly stated, “We were a musical family, we’re always on tour, and I grew up on the road. For me, that was a beautiful experience, and it’s one that I can also give to Sidney. He’ll get to travel the world, meet all sorts of people, get exposure to art and music and science and things he never would see if he wasn’t traveling the world.”
Sidney joined his parents and grandpa Ozzy at the metal legend’s induction as a solo artist in the Rock and Rokk Hall of Fame in 2024. He has also been to his dad’s shows with Slipknot, including a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden, before he was 2 years old. Sidney also enjoys hanging out and having fun with his grandpa.
