Details on Kendra Scott’s Engagement Ring
Kendra Scott’s engagement ring is a custom piece created by Franco Valobra from Valobra Master Jewelers in Houston, Texas. It features a rare, 3-carat and GIA-certified fancy pink diamond, with a remarkable VVS2 level of clarity, en-haloed by 28 baguette-cut white diamonds around the center stone, totalling 3.17 carats, all set in platinum gold.
Country music star and songwriter Zac Brown proposed to the love of his life, fashion designer and jewelry creator Kendra Scott, during sunset on a boat trip in Africa on July 24, 2025. They had just gone public 2 months prior, at the American Music Awards held in Las Vegas.
Kendra spoke with TODAY and recalled the sweet moment when his beau got on one knee and proposed, “It was golden hour. I mean, we danced together on the boat, and we listened to that song: ‘I may not be your first, but I’m your last. And at that moment, he kind of got down on one knee.”
When they got onshore, there were hippos wading in the water and elephants on the bank with lanterns set up. Zac had set up a nice and nifty welcome.
Zac also spoke with TODAY, and explained the challenges of getting the perfect ring for a jewelry designer herself, explaining, “What are you gonna get somebody that designs jewelry? But it’s incredible, incredible. So happy … We’re so happy we found each other, and we’re blessed.”
How Much is Kendra Scott’s Engagement Ring?
We asked Estate Diamond Jewelry’s specialist and GIA-certified gemologist, Benjamin Khordipour, about the cost of this precious engagement ring. The ring costs more than $1 million.
The main factors for the ring’s high value are the diamond’s rarity, very high quality, and excellent craftsmanship by Franco Valobra from Valobra Master Jewelers. It proved to be a challenge for Zac, but the careful design and execution produced a lovely mega-ring that exceeded their expectations.
Kendra and Zac’s Love Story and Lovely Engagement
American fashion designer and entrepreneur Kendra Scott founded her jewelry company, Kendra Scott, LLC, in 2002. She grew her company with an initial capital of $500 and a hot determination. It’s now one of the most recognized modern jewelry companies in America, with over 150 stores across the U.S.
Kendra also founded philanthropy and charity organizations to give back to the community. She founded the Kendra Scott Foundation and the Kendra Cares Program. Her companies have helped various causes to benefit women and children nationwide.
Although she stepped down from her CEO position in 2021, but to serve as the executive chairman. She continues to do philanthrophy and charity work today.
Zac Brown is a Grammy Award-winning country musician and songwriter, and the frontman of the Zac Brown Band. He also created the EDM band, Sir Rosevelt.
Like Kendra, Zac is also a philanthropist when not onstage. The singer and guitarist founded Camp Southern Ground, a nonprofit organization that funds youth development and veterans’ programs.
Through a mutual friend, Zac and Kendra met in early 2025. The smitten sweethearts soon found themselves head over heels in love. Among their common interests were philanthropy and family life, and life as parents, which deepened their bond.
They kept their budding relationship under wraps until they appeared together on the red carpet at the American Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 26, 2025. Zac enthused on an Instagram post, presenting his girlfriend to the world, “Hit the @amas red carpet with the best date by my side. Ready to soak it all in and have some fun tonight!”
By July 2025, the adorable and totally in love pair revealed their engagement status on Instagram.
Prior Relationships and Kids
Zac had two previous relationships prior to meeting the love of his life, Kendra. He married jewelry designer Shelly Brown from 2006 to 2018. They share five children together, four daughters and a son: Alexander, Joni, Georgia, Lucy, and Justice.
Zac also had a brief relationship with Kelly Yazdi, who used to work for his band, The Zac Brown Band. They got engaged in 2022 and tied the knot in August 2023. However, they divorced 4 months later, citing personal differences.
Kendra was previously married three times before meeting Zac.
Her first marriage was with John Scott, with whom she shares two sons, Cade and Beck, born in 2001 and 2004, respectively. She married Matt Davis after, and was in a relationship with him from 2014 to 2020. They share a son together, Grey, born in 2013.
Her last relationship before getting engaged to Zac was with Thomas Evans, but no details are available on how long they were together.
