It’s that time of the year for cutting-edge fashion and art. The world’s topmost, high-end fashion worlds all collide at the Met Gala.
In this annual realm, you’ll also find the most expensive and exquisite of Met Gala’s top Celebrity Jewelry to mesmerize and inspire fashion fiends and connoisseurs alike.
Premium, high-fashion art and luxury were all well-represented in this year’s dress code, “The Garden of Time”. It’s based on the Metropolitan Museum’s exhibition, entitled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”
I am your in-house fashion and art design guide, Rallye Ibanez, BFA Fine Arts and modern fashion researcher from the Philippines Women’s University and Art Institute. I’ll guide you today to our curated lineup, some of the finest pieces of clothing art and high-end designer chic ever presented.
1. Zendaya’s Grand Entrance in Emeralds
Zendaya’s Met Gala entrance was stunning as expected. Her sleek, dark blue, and slightly green-hued gown commanded attention, a daring, beautiful gown designed by Maison Margiela’s John Galliano with dark, gorgeous styling by Law Roach. A single emerald ring and matching emerald earrings created a luxurious addition to her bodacious and edgy evening gown.
Zendaya’s dress has a sweetheart neckline that beckons you further, with its blue metallic sheen and horizontal wraps that wave around her layered skirt with a slight mermaid silhouette. A lovely one-shoulder blue wraparound accent and off-the-shoulder sleek straps add gorgeous accents along with her dark blue plume headpiece.
It was just the first of two evening outfits bound to send high fashion fans into a beautiful shock.
2. Michelle Yeoh in Cindy Chao The Art Jewel
Also adorned with dazzling emerald earrings is the intense actress of “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” Michelle Yeoh. These lovely earrings are by Cindy Chao, from her 2020 Black Label Masterpiece collection.
The XI Emerald Waterfall earrings has 2 Colombian cabochon emeralds. One of 4.37 carats and the other is 3.73 carats, flanked by heavy clusters of white and yellow diamonds, and tsavorites. Three precious metals form its base settings with titanium, 18-karat yellow gold, and 18-karat white gold.
Michelle dazzled with an emerald floral ring from Chao’s White Label collection, with a 3.45-carat cabochon emerald en-haloed by white diamonds, sapphires, and tsavorites.
3. Nicole Kidman in Harry Winston
Nicole Kidman was regal and dreamy in a classic black and white Haute Couture Balenciaga dress and white full-length dress gloves. It is a classic Cristobal Balenciaga gown from the 1950s, and a part of the timeless Parisian fashion house collection for the 1951 spring and summer season.
She also wore super dazzling Harry Winston jewelry, a 69-carat diamond ultra bracelet set in premium platinum, known as the ‘Secret Combination Diamond Bracelet’. On her ears are a lovely pair of 15-carat diamond earrings, known as the Cluster Diamond Earrings.
4. Jennifer Lopez in Tiffany & Co.
As one of the co-chairs of the 2024 Met Gala, Jennifer Lopez aligned with the high-fashion theme for the 2024 Met Gala. She partnered with Tiffany and Co. and wore their Schlumberger Tiffany Celéste Collection. This ethereal platinum necklace boasts 75 carats of glimmering diamonds surrounding the 20-carat center jewel. JLo matched it with the finest high-end threads of the one and only Schiaparelli and her gorgeous haute couture gown.
5. Alia Bhatt in Sabyasachi
British Bollywood star Alia Bhatt also turned up the heat with a double double Sabyasachi look. She paired her heavily textured, green-hued sari dress with beautiful Sabyasachi jewelry, creating the perfect look for this year’s Garden of Time theme.
We can only gush at her lavish threads, a draped-over and layered creation studded with embroidery, sequins, beads, and a long train. The open sides create a sultry atmosphere, made even more luxurious with a smattering of emeralds, Basra pearls, tourmalines, and multi coloured sapphires.
Alia adorned her look with some of the most exquisite Sabyasachi High Jewellery’s Bengal Royal collection. Her jewelry featured tourmalines, sapphires, emeralds, and old mine-cut, brilliant-cut EF-grade and VVS-clarity diamonds
6. Gigi Hadid in Chopard
Gigi Hadid looked super glamorous at the 2024 Met Gala. She had on a classic Thom Brown white off-the-shoulder gown with a corset-style bodice and a sprawling skirt with spiraling dark blue lines and golden rose flower accents, with an emphasis on her natural curves.
Completing and complementing her gorgeous composition is her Chopard tennis necklace and a pair of double pear-shaped yellow diamond earrings. She looked grandiose across the stairs and the red carpet.
7. Greta Lee in De Beers
Lovely Greta Lee made her glorious and memorable Met Gala entrance with a Loewe creation, an illusion lace, and an organically shaped dress peppered with 3D floral appliques. It matches this year’s fashion theme with grace and prettiness.
The “Past Lives” actress wore De Beers’ high-end jewelry as well. She wore two rings. One was the Allegria eternity band, in premium platinum with 3.70-carats of sparkling white diamonds. The other was a classic round brilliant diamond eternity band with a total of 6.62 carats. These blockbuster gems are the perfect escorts to the high fashion and art halls of the Met.
8. Prabal Gurung in De Beers
American fashion designer Prabal Gurung, adorned with exclusive De Beers’ bling and garb, stunned the halls of the Met. The fashion designer was in the house, and actually clothed many of the other exquisite-dressed celebrities there.
Aside from a crisp and nice-looking rose and leaves shirt and an undershirt, plus the ultra-low V neckline, were his hot jewelry.
Up front is the “Snow Dance” diamond necklace, you won’t miss it across his chest or not. It features white diamonds across its span with a solitaire pear-shaped drop diamond. It has 10.84 carats set in very fine 18-karat white gold.
Gurung also had two round brilliant-cut diamond studs totaling 4.04 carats on each ear, and a precious bracelet with 17.03 carats of diamonds set in platinum. As per all things, Gurum, yes, it always tends to be on the rich, opulent side.
9. Emily Ratajkowski in Chopard
Emily enchanted everyone in her illusion silver lace dress, an original FW01 Versace dress from Tab Vintage. The ultra sexy and artsy dress coincides with the theme, with added seductive properties.
The top model wore elegant yellow diamonds from Chopard. She also had beautiful dangle earrings embellishing her face.
Her lovely blinged-out fingers were another highlight, with a shimmering tennis bracelet on her wrist with yellow stones, plus the mega bling of her two diamond cocktail rings.
10. Emma Chamberlain in Cartier
Emma Chamberlain was glamorous and goth in a monochromatic moth-brown illusion lace custom Jean Paul Gaultier creation that seduces and mystifies. The thorny halter top and off-the-shoulder motifs and dark lace look magnificent in the Met Gala’s organic themes.
To match her artsy piece, she paired it with glam white diamonds from the Cartier high jewelry collection. Her dazzling Cartier necklace and matching earrings added sheer spark to complement her modern gothic elegance.
11. Penélope Cruz in Chanel
Hot actress Penélope Cruz gracefully entered the Met Gala halls in a stunning off-the-shoulder black lace tiered ball gown. However, her Chanel jewelry created marvelous sparkles in the venue.
These precious gems on Penélope are part of Chanel’s High Jewelry collection. The combination of platinum and diamonds against her seductive black gown proved to be a lethal pairing. Penélope’s shimmering ensemble featured classic diamond stud earrings, a large and stately index finger ring, a lovely sparkling bracelet, and a studded necklace.
12. Demi Moore in Cartier
Fashion icon and actress Demi Moore was stunning in a black and floral colored art installation dress, a creation by top fashion maven Harris Reed. The square neckline at the center has a huge apple shape in black, adorned with lovely flowers and leaves. The outer rim features outward arrow tips in black, with a tapered skirt and an oversized hip design.
Demi wore the exclusive Cartier’s high jewelry collection, Nature Sauvage, featuring the stunning “Chloris” necklace. It has 7.87 carats of emeralds and diamonds set in platinum. Her Cartier earrings both weighed in at a hefty 2.25 carats. These pieces seamlessly aligned with the lovely actress’s well-composed, artsy outfit.
13. Amanda Seyfried in Chaumet
In accordance with the nature and organics of this year’s theme, Amanda Seyfried showed up in grand fashion with a sustainable dress. Request granted said her stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, who used deadstock fabric from Prada’s spring 2009 collection. It was gorgeous silver satin.
The well-constructed design and composition of Amanda’s Prada dress were super stunning. The sleeveless evening dress bodice and gown skirt, adorned with lovely purple-lined flowers, stunned the Met Gala crowd.
On her head is a magnificent Chaumet’s Mèlodie Nacrée tiara, for that modern royalty look. Accenting her face were the brand’s Josephine Duo Eternal earrings.
14. Michelle Williams in Chanel
The lovely Michelle Williams was another fashion highlight at the event. Simple, minimalist, glorious, and pretty, her cotton candy-pink hair perfectly paired with her evening gown. She was adorable in her pretty in pink pixie princess fashionable look.
Michelle’s artful use of the Chanel High Jewellery’s Franges white gold and diamond necklace into a mini-crown tiara worked excellently. Her lovely dress features an illusion lace round neckline with its off-the-shoulder puff sleeves and short skirt with lace overlays at the back.
15. Dua Lipa in Tiffany & Co.
Extra hot singer Dua Lipa rocked her Met Gala 2024 entrance with a Marc Jacobs boudoir outfit with sultry vibes and her deep red hair. Her sexy black lace layers converged at the bodice and draped skirt with a train. Her black feathered, one-shoulder cape train added further intrigue in black.
The one and only Tiffany & Co. adorned her with blinding diamonds. She has a platinum necklace with a central marquise diamond more than 8 carats with a sparkling halo of smaller diamonds totaling over 22 carats.
Her face gets additional sparkling power from her platinum earrings, each bearing over 12 carats of diamonds.
16. Lily James in Boucheron
Actress Lily James stunned the onlookers and the paparazzi of the Met Gala red carpet with the simple elegance of Erdem Moralıoğlu’s dress. The pink sleeveless evening gown features a dipped V neckline and tight sexy bodice over a sheath skirt and long Watteau-like train from her back. Black leaves motifs adorn the classic, sexy dress.
Matching her princess in pink looks is exclusive jewelry from Boucheron’s Plume de Paon collection. She glows in her white gold and diamond earrings. Each lovely hand also features magnificent rings.
