Everyone who has seen Millie Bobby Brown’s engagement ring is sure to faint or swoon, or both. It’s an exquisite ring with a 3.5-carat cushion-cut diamond plus a cushion-shaped pavé halo on a pavé 18k gold band lined with premium small round cut diamonds.

The couple was enjoying their time underwater when Jake proposed with a ring hidden inside a shell. It was a prop ring, so as to guarantee the safety of the real ring, an actual, rare antique from Jake’s mom.

She recalled on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that, “As I went to show him, the ring falls off my finger [and] plummets so fast it was like a cinematic movie. Jake threw himself into the water…he does a cinematic grab, and he saved the ring. I truly feel like it’s a reflection of who he is, and I feel like we’re always gonna have each other’s back. If anyone drops the ball, we’ve got it.”

Millie then imitated Jake’s Mom, saying, “‘Absolutely not, Jake. You’re not taking my ring down there. I know you’ll drop it.’ And sure enough, I did. So when we got up on the boat… he’s like, ‘This is your mum’s ring, and I got it from your parents.’ And it was very magical.”
“And his parents were there, and we just looked so dishevelled coming out from a dive. We were like, ‘We’re engaged, but also we have to tell you this crazy story that just happened,'” she added.

Like some celebrities and stars, sliding into DMs on Instagram can do wonders. Jake first met Millie online there in 2021, and during that time called each other (the classic) “friends”. A June 3, 2021, Instagram post by Jake called themselves “bff <3.”
However, they were later seen in New York and later in other different places, with slight PDA. Fans and the press already knew what’s up.
They soon celebrated their first Christmas in December 2021, their first birthday for Millie B, their first red carpet debut, Jake’s birthday, and the Stranger Things 4 premiere, together, all within a very eventful first year.
On April 11, 2023, they got engaged, and Millie posted a loving dedication to her hubby, “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all 🤍,” quoting Taylor Swift lyrics from her song “Lover.”

Many people criticized the lovely couple for being too young for marriage. Millie Bobby Brown is 19 years old, and Jake is 20.
Jake’s dad came to rescue to his son and daughter-in-law. Speaking with TODAY, Bon Jovi approved of Millie, saying, “I don’t know if age matters, you know, if you find the right partner and you grow together. I think that would be my advice, really. Growing together is wise.”
The “Living on a Prayer” glam rocker married his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, in 1989 and are still together.
He gave his blessing to the couple, telling in an interview with Bunnie XO’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast, “We blessed it because we get it, you know? They’re sorta mature beyond their years. She comes from a family where her parents are still together, and they married very young. Her and Jake fell in love, and we just thought, ‘OK, we’ll support this.’ And it’s working out.”

Millie and Jake got married on May 24, 2024.
The marriage was a very simple ceremony with the parents of both groom and bride in attendance, along with other close family. Millie’s wifey shorts appear on Instagram within a week of the secret marriage.
On August 21, 2025, they adopted a baby daughter and became a family of 3. They later celebrated again at the fifth season premiere of Stranger Things and are still going strong today.
Speaking with British Vogue, Millie gushes about being a mom and being a parent, “It’s been a beautiful, amazing journey—she’s taught us so much already. We are 50-50 on everything. That’s why I’m so grateful to have partnered with him in this life—he is just the most amazing dad.”
She also says that the couple does not post photos or disclose any details about their daughter for her complete privacy, “For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story, until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself.”
