The Paper and Never Have I Ever TV star Ramona Young and bf JJ Polwrek are now engaged! Ramona Young’s engagement ring went public in her Instagram post on April 19, 2026. Her hubby proposed to her at an undisclosed beachside area that lovely Sunday afternoon.

Their lovely, romantic photo on a beach at sunset showed off her fresh engagement ring. It features a solitaire, round-cut diamond secured with 4 prongs. Two small, side baguette diamonds flank the diamond on a yellow gold band.
The beautiful and grandiose beach sunset set the backdrop for JJ’s proposal, which Ramona immediately said yes to.
She shared one of JJ’s IG stories showing her pointing to the lovely diamond ring. JJ posted his caption, gushing over that adorable, dazzling diamond: “The smile I’ll never take for granted ❤️ #godisgreat.”
The adorable couple was also flanked by JJ’s two dogs, an unnamed white dog and his Wooly Siberian Husky named Layla.
Ramona’s Never Have I Ever co-stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Lee Rodriguez, Poorna Jagannathan, and show creator Mindy Kaling gushed over their engagement photos. They congratulated them on Instagram with lovely dedications.
Her co-stars from The Paper, Sabrina Impacciatore, Oscar Nuñez, and Chelsea Frei, all greeted her with greetings of joy and cute emoticons as well.

Ramona and JJ have been very private about their love life. Very few details are available on this cute couple, and it appears to be the first time we’ve seen them together officially on their socials.

The newly engaged couple’s first red carpet appearance was at the TCL Chinese Theatre on October 06, 2025, in Hollywood. They attended the premiere of Tron: Ares as a couple for the first time.

Ramona Abish Young, born on May 23, 1998, in Los Angeles, California, spent her formative years between Hong Kong and the US until she was 8 years old. She caught the acting bug later on and studied it at Playhouse West.
In her interview on Naluda.com, she explained that none of her family is in showbiz. “I don’t have family in the business,” she explained.
“My grandfather is an eastern doctor. My grandmother sold clothes on the sidewalk,” she continued. She also elaborated on her parents: “My mother is in the Navy, and my father is a psychologist and professor.”
Ramona got her start in acting in 2014, as part of the ABC sitcom Super Fun Night. In 2015, she wrote, starred, and produced her own short film, Reflections.
Soon, roles kept rolling in. She appeared on American horror TV series Z Nation and The Real O’Neals in 2016. Ramona also starred in the Netflix series Santa Clarita Diet in 2017, the comedy movie Blockers in 2018, and the DC Comics Arrowverse series Legends of Tomorrow.
In 2020, Ramona joined the cast of the Netflix series Never Have I Ever. She’s also currently in the cast of the Netflix mockumentary series The Paper.
Aside from acting, she has also taken cinematography, writing, directing, and producing roles over the years.
Ramona has practiced martial arts since age 4. She is into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Most of us know Ramona from her amazing roles over the years. However, we have super little information on her handsome beau, JJ. His last name isn’t even available on his private Instagram account or in Google searches.
Apart from their first appearance in the Tron: Ares movie, we don’t have anything else on her non-showbiz fiancé. We’re slowly getting to know him, though.
