Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalia and Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Rauw Alejandro are engaged! On December 31, 2022, he proposed with Rosalia’s engagement ring for her elusive yes. It appeared in their collaboration music video “Beso,” an adorable tribute to their short but intense love affair.

Rosalia’s engagement ring is more than just lovely bling. It’s a sparkling symbol of the love between her and Rauw and that frame of time when they were together and truly in love.
Her ring features a 4-carat round brilliant-cut diamond secured with 4 prongs and flanked by two side diamond clusters on a tapered platinum band. It’s technically a 3-stone engagement ring, with each cluster in a triangular formation of three smaller round diamonds.
The couple was in Rauw’s grandma’s house back in Puerto Rico, during New Year’s Eve. He had butterflies in his stomach. Rosalia recalled to GQ that “I wasn’t expecting it, and you said, ‘Come, I want to show you a place. And I followed you, thinking nothing of it. I think you got down on one knee. I was nervous as well, so I don’t remember all the details.”
Rauw made a minor, but adorable booboo, though, when he tried to pull out the ring from his pocket, and it got stuck. She recalled, “You started searching for something, and I thought, ‘What’s up with him? And you couldn’t take it out!”
Celebrities are still humans just like us. The engagement story became part of their lore.
Their engagement video became part of their collaborative single and music video, “Beso”. It was from their then upcoming EP, RR. Their love is romantically entwined with their passionate work on their music and art.

Our phone call with him gave us insights into the special ring, and he placed its value at over $100,000.
According to reports from gemsociety.org, the ring was a creation by custommade.com. The 4-carat high-quality center diamond, the triangular 3-diamond cluster on each side, the milgrain shank motifs, and the oh-so-adorable RR initials on top of each other on the underside are big price factors.

RR: Rosalia and Rauw’s Epic Love Story
Yes, just like many of us, our lovely duo actually exchanged Instagram DMs as the start of their love story. Then, months later, they finally met in real life, and at the Latin Grammy Awards, too.
Rauw said it was “100% love at first sight” when he first saw and met Rosalia at a hotel lounge in Las Vegas. They were attending the Latin Grammy Awards in November 2019.
“I was nervous; I’m not going to lie. Rosi came down, and I saw her. I got even more nervous,” Rauw recalled their first meeting.
The two started dating and also collaborating. In 2020, she did backing vocals on the song “Dile a Él” from Rauw’s first album, Afrodisiaco.
Then, 2 years later, they did more collabs. She sang on “Corazón Despeinado” from his 2022 album, Saturno. She contributed songwriting and lyrics to “Caprichoso” on his Trap Cake, Vol. 2 EP, also from the same year.
Rauw returned the favor on “Chicken Teriyaki” and “Bizcochito”, both songs from Motomami, her 2022 album.
When paparazzi started posting their photos together, they posted their own video on TikTok and adorable photos together on Instagram in September 2021. It was more or less the hard launch of Rosalia and Rauw, the sweet couple.
Then they made their first red carpet debut on November 12, 2021, at the Los40 Music Awards in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. She gave him the Best International Latin Urban Artist award, followed by a fiery kiss. The fans and the press went wild!
The couple made another grand entrance at the November 2022 Latin Grammy Awards red carpet. Rosalia won a slew of awards that night, including Album of the Year for Motomami.
A Brief But Intense Love Affair
A month later, on New Year’s Eve, Rauw knew it was time to propose to the love of his life. They were in Puerto Rico at his grandma’s house, and enjoying the festivities in the uppermost penthouse outdoors when he nervously went for that adorable proposal.
They immortalized their love and engagement video on the “Beso” music video, which was one of the songs of their RR EP, both released in March 24, 2023. It consisted of three singles, all pertaining to them and their phases of love: “Beso” (Kiss), “Promesa” (Promise), and “Vampiros” (Vampires).
However, their split later that year in July shocked their worldwide fans and the press. It was abrupt, with no issues discussed on why and how, and it broke many hearts.
After their engagement announcement, the couple was already planning the grand wedding. On June 14, she talked to the El Hormiguero talk show, where she beamed that she found her wedding dress, a Vivienne Westwood creation.
There were also hints that their wedding would be after wrapping up her Motomami World Tour in July 2023. However, the news of their split instead faced their saddened fans around the globe.
Over the recent years, news of reconciliation from coincidence posts and feelers from the two emerged, but they remained no more than exes with mutual respect and understanding.
