Brendan Hunt and Shannon Nelson’s engagement ring is a culmination of their love story and long-term relationship of more than 9 years. However, they are also private and do not fully disclose details of their personal lives.
Brendan got on one knee and proposed to Shannon with a 2-carat, east-west-set solitaire emerald-cut diamond mounted on a pavé gold band.
The two actors share a beautiful son, Sean Theodore Nelson Hunt, born in 2021, before they set their engagement.
Shannon commemorated their engagement on Instagram, giving some insight into their family and why fans thought they already tied the knot before. Well, it does pay to be a little more private about their personal lives. “We are a family, A beautiful, wonderful family, and will be for always.”
She addressed the confusion many fans felt, a some sort of Mandela effect that surprised many, “Some folks have assumed we had already done this, but truth be told, we had other priorities in becoming a family. Now it feels right. I get to marry this beautiful man. I get to call him my husband and to be his wife, and I am the luckiest.❤️”
Brendan posted his commemoration of the lovely proposal on his Instagram too, captioning his post with a lighthearted tribute to her soon-to-be wife, saying, “The majestic @snoopshann, so rarely photographed in her natural habitat, captured here in the act of saying “yes.”

Shannon’s ring features a lovely, uncommon east-to-west placement of the 2-carat emerald-cut, prong-set diamond, mounted in 18k yellow gold. It has a G color grade and VS clarity. These specifications are the main factors for its pricing.
Emerald cut diamonds are one of the most sought-after cuts for engagement rings. Recognizable due to its brilliance from the steep cut facets on every side, they produce the “hall of mirrors” effect.

Actress and producer Shannon Nelson started her acting career as early as 1993, starting with the popular TV series Silk Stalkings as Traci Winter. She later starred in hit films such as Alice and the Monster and Drop Dead Gorgeous plus more TV series roles such as on Cannabis Moms Club and Pairings.
Shannon also has a credit as one of the characters in the Emergency Room 2 video game from 1999. She appeared on the TV series of the same name later in 2001 and starred in a number of highly acclaimed short films over the years.
Shannon received a Florence Film Awards nomination in 2020 for her role in the short film Ruth. She was in the Hollywood Fringe Festival play Absolutely Filthy in 2013, a parody based on the Peanuts comics, where she first met award-winning writer and actor Brendan Hunt.
In September 2023, they announced Shannon’s pregnancy, and on March 1, 2024, they welcomed their 2nd son, Archibald Felix Nelson Hunt.
Brendan celebrated his birth, posting on Instagram, “We were supposed to go to @cedarssinai today to have a baby. Instead, we got home today, because our fourth family member felt like rolling up three days early.”

Her Hubby, Brendan Hunt
Brendan Hunt, born on June 28, 1972, in Chicago, Illinois, started his career as a writer and actor in 1998 until 2008 for Boom Chicago in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He was the head writer and one of the regular performers of its shows, Comedy Central (Netherlands), for its satirical news program, Comedy Central News or CCN.
He returned to the States and started working on a one-man show entitled Five Years in Amsterdam based on his experiences working and living in the country.
After working on the successful play Absolutely Filthy, he starred in popular TV shows, including Reno 911!, Parks and Recreation, Community, and How I Met Your Mother.
His major motion picture role in We’re the Millers (2013) also featured Boom Chicago co-alumni, Jason Sudeikis. He also starred in Sudeikis’ movie Horrible Bosses 2 in 2014.
He received an Emmy Award nomination for his regular appearances in the Comedy Central series Key & Peele. Then he received another nomination at the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special with Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, and Rich Talarico, for the Key & Peele Super Bowl Special.
Brendan is also a voice actor in the video game Fallout 4, as one of the DJs, plus worked in kids’ Disney Channel series Dog With a Blog, Austin & Ally, and Disney XD’s Kirby Buckets.
In 2020, he started working on Ted Lasso, a sports comedy drama TV series, as one of the showrunners and writers, and one of the main actors, playing Coach Willis Beard. It’s one of the highest-rated TV shows, scoring 90% on the average Tomatometer and 86% on the average Popcornmeter on the Rotten Tomatoes website.
