Sofia Richie’s Engagement Ring and Wedding Bands
Sofia Richie’s engagement ring and wedding band are essential jewelry that match her high-status wedding celebrations. Her engagement ring and proposal were the start of the road leading to her epic wedding with Elliot Grainge.
Elliot proposed to Sofia on April 20, 2022, when they were on vacation in Hawaii. With the backdrop of the sunset across the beach and the hall from their room strewn with flowers, candles, and a breathtaking, overlooking, panoramic view of the coast, she gave Elliot her sweet yes.
Her engagement ring features a massive 6-carat, emerald-cut diamond with a north-south setting crowned on a platinum band. Its remarkable size and high quality are commanding.
Sofia pairs her lavish ring with 3 different wedding bands, which creates a striking, sparkling presence on her hand. The ensemble of fine platinum and different diamonds on her finger is super dazzling.
One ring is a 3-sided micro set band, one features an Asscher-cut eternity band, and a pavé eternity band. She often stacks them together in an opulent stack.

Our phone conversation with the Gemological Institute of America-certified gemologist and jewelry specialist, Benjamin Khordipour G.D., revealed some specifications and insights into Sofia’s lavish ring stack.
The combined dazzling and sparkling power of these rings is an east-to-west coast affair of opulent diamonds and platinum, crafted by powerhouse jewelry designers.
He placed the value of the engagement ring at more than $400,000, possibly hitting the $500,000 mark. For the stack of 3 eternity bands, his professional appraisal for their total is over $120,000.

This power trio stack enables her to mix and match these stacks with her main diamond ring, wielding much carat and metal power.
The overall total of these rings is a very hefty $600,000+, considering the grand diamonds, platinum, and expert, precision, world-class craftsmanship involved.
Sofia and Elliot’s Dream Wedding
Music royalty couple Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge married on April 22, 2023, at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France.
Sofia is the daughter of the one and only Lionel Richie, the Motown and R&B icon. Elliot is the Chairman and CEO of Atlantic Music Group, and his work gave the label a significant boost.
This sprawling, grandiose luxury villa complex with lush greenery and a breathtaking view of the seafront of Cap d’Antibes was the backdrop of this dream wedding.
Before their overseas dream wedding, the couple had a solemn legal wedding at their home with their parents, a requirement before getting married overseas.
Speaking with Vogue, she recounted the intimate wedding ceremony, “Legally, we had to get married in the States beforehand, so right before we left for France, we got married at home with just our parents. We read our vows then because we felt it was very personal, something for just our families to hear and experience in the privacy of our home.”
Sofia shared pre-wedding pictures for her fans and the press leading up to her big day. Her posts showed a lot of her personal fashion styles, culminating in her captivating wedding and reception dresses.
Her dad sang “Hello” and “Stuck on You” for their wedding dance. One of her favorite singers, Stephen Sanchez, serenaded them as she walked down the aisle, and to her surprise, she saw it was really him as she got up close to the altar.
Dressed in Lovely Chanel
Chanel created three distinct wedding dresses for Sofia, one for her rehearsal dinner, one for her wedding ceremony proper, and one for her reception.
Sofia collaborated with Chanel’s Madame Olivia Douchez and her stylist Liat Baruch to create these dresses.
“It has always been a dream of mine to have Chanel design my wedding dress. At my first fitting at the Chanel salons in Paris, I immediately envisioned the dress I wanted to get married in: a beautiful lace-embroidered halter gown with a long train,” she told Vogue.
There are meaningful details included in the dresses’ designs. She elaborated further, “Within the dress are subtle details, including an embroidered heart to represent the love that Elliot and I share, as well as a blue embroidered S&E on the inside of the dress above my heart.”
Her main wedding dress features a halter-top, sleeveless design and keyhole back. It has lovely lace layers, textures, and scalloped edges. The curvy skirt features a trumpet silhouette that leads to a grand Cathedral train. Her veil adds another beautiful layer to her skirt train.
Sofia later changed into her reception party dress, an adorable strapped mini dress with the Chanel flower in the middle top of the bodice. It seamlessly flowed down to its double-edged, layered hemline. She also had a short, knee-length veil.
For the dress rehearsal the day before, she wore a long-sleeved, closed-neck dress overlaid with a textured and beaded bodice and a simple, elegant skirt.
A Beautiful Dream Wedding in France
Sofia and Elliott had a traditional Jewish wedding. She converted to Judaism prior to their wedding vows. The couple also had a legal courthouse wedding before they flew to the south of France for their epic dream wedding.
The royal and enthralling backdrop of Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc was magnificent. The grand and classic French architecture, lush greenery, and beauteous views of the French Riviera captivated the guests.
The entrance and stairs where they stood for their wedding photo featured amazing floral arrangements. It was oh so lovely, with white and green bundles of flowers and wreathe leaves in basking glory.
The After-Party
None other than Lionel Richie, Sofia’s dad, serenaded them and the guests, performing his immortal hits. He sat on the piano and performed “Stuck on You” for the couple’s first dance. Then he later belted out a stunning, “Hello”, the classic making everyone sing along.
It also won’t be complete without Sofia and Elliot’s favorite band Good Charlotte, who were the wedding band. Their singer, Joel Madden, is Sofia’s brother-in-law and married to her sister, Nicole.
The reception party also kicked off with custom cocktails named after the bride and groom, “The Elliot” which was tequila, agave, and lime, and “The Sofia”, consisting of vodka, fresh blackberries, lime, ginger beer, and mint. They also served gourmet delectables, including pasta and chicken alfredo.
