Celebrity engagement rings often seem to outdo each other in terms of total opulence and sky-high price tags. Some of them have very simple designs, but some are simply outlandishly unique and beautiful, a match for the lovely celebrity who adorns them.
1. Halle Berry’s Engagement Ring
Following her 6-year relationship with musician and songwriter Van Hunt, Halle Berry finally said ‘Yes’ to his (actually 2nd) proposal. His first proposal the year before was “on hold” as they were not really in a hurry to marry, contrary to rumor mill reports!
Jewelry specialists describe Halle’s engagement ring as featuring a central, 2-carat, bezel-cut diamond, with 2 smaller side diamonds, surrounded by deep blue sapphire stones on a yellow gold frame and band. These gems sparkle with a unique custom design, part Art Deco and part modern composition, its deep blue hues complementing its classic yellow gold.
2. Megan Fox’s Engagement Ring
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly may no longer be together, but her adorable Toi et moi engagement ring is forever.
The unique ring features two central stones. The first is an untreated 3-carat green emerald, Megan’s birthstone, secured by a 3-prong setting. It pairs beautifully with the 3-carat D-color diamond, MGK’s birthstone.
True to the Toi et moi theme, the composition and construction of the ring are two in one, as well. It’s super lovely, featuring two rings fused into one, set on a magnetic band of thorns, designed by British jewelry designer Stephen Webster, in collaboration with MGK himself.
The double-gem ring forms a heart with an 18-carat white gold pavé two-band ring, with thorn-motif shanks with small diamonds. According to MGK, the thorns are functional and will cause pain when removed. Talk about ’till death do us part’!
3. Ariana Grande’s Engagement Ring
Ariana Grande’s engagement ring from her ex-hubby, Dalton Gomez, is another unique Toi et moi design and composition. This double-gem pairing is much simpler but very elegant, with a deep meaning and history behind it.
The large and lovely 6-carat, oval-cut diamond forms the first half of the ring, set diagonally with a 4-prong setting. This creates well-composed spacing for the heirloom pearl, a meaningful part of Ariana’s engagement ring. Her grandma gave it to her, which originally came from a tie pin owned by her grandpa.
Jack Solow designed the ring with Dalton to incorporate the pearl beautifully on the ring.
4. Mariah Carey’s Engagement Ring
Mariah Carey’s engagement ring from Nick Cannon is a massive designer piece loaded with a total of 17 heavy carats of diamonds.
Its central 10-carat, pink emerald-cut diamond is stunning and unique, fit for the Queen of R&B. The rest of the remaining 7 carats are in 58 smaller pink diamonds and two side diamonds, layered around its thick halo layers, with a rose gold layer underneath, all crowned on a thick platinum band.
5. Jennifer Lopez’ Engagement Ring
Jennifer Lopez received two engagement rings from ex-hubby Ben Affleck, one in 2002 and another in 2022. It’s an enduring love with two highly publicized and unique engagement rings.
The 2022 Bennifer ring is also one of a kind and highly customized, and a much bigger, beautiful upgrade. It features an 8.5-carat, light green center diamond. Two half-moon trapezoidal diamonds flank it on each side, bound on a platinum ring. Like her previous Ben Affleck engagement ring, it has a custom engraving under: “Not.Going.Anywhere”.
Ilan Portugali from Beverly Hills Diamond helped source the rare green diamond. Then, Rahaminov Diamonds designed and installed it on the final exquisite piece.
6. Heidi Klum’s Engagement Ring
Heidi Klum actually gets two entries in one for her two unique and rare engagement rings. One features a striking, bright yellow diamond, and the other features a green diamond.
The first one is from ex-hubby, Seal, designed by Lorraine Schwartz, with a large 10-carat canary-yellow diamond on a yellow-gold band, reportedly costing more than $150,000 in 2005.
The second is another spectacular piece from husband Tom Kaulitz. It features a stunning and very rare 3 to 5-carat Alexandrite green center gem, which is photochromatic. It’s green in sunlight and changes color depending on the light source.
The beautiful green gemstone has a halo of smaller diamonds, and two cushion-cut smaller diamonds on each side set on a thick gold band.
7. Ashlee Simpson’s Engagement Ring
Ashlee Simpson, or Ashley Nicolle Ross-Næss, is the proud owner of this heavily detailed and intricately designed ring that looks like no other. This true, crafted beauty of exquisite design and composition is from her hubby, actor and musician Evan Ross, the son of legendary singer Diana Ross.
This massive ring features a 5-carat marquise-cut diamond in the center, surrounded by beautiful red rubies in an octagonal halo enclosure design. It also has an outer marquise-shaped halo of diamonds with top and bottom triangle rubies. Then, there are fleur-de-lis shanks on each side, also studded with smaller diamonds. Whew. Talk about unique, outlandishly pretty, and super ornate.
8. Scarlett Johansson’s Engagement Ring
Scarlett Johansson belongs to this curated list of unique, rare, and beautiful rings. Her ring’s estimated price? $400,000.
Her engagement ring from her husband, Colin Jost, features a massive, 11-carat light brown diamond perched on its opposite end on a black ceramic band. What sounds so simple and minimalist in print belies what it is in real life. It looks like a gorgeous weapon, or one of the Infinity Stones from her Avengers movies, to be exact!
It also comes with a funny story. One day, she lost the ring and couldn’t find it, and believed she may have dropped it in the trash. Colin looked for it in 12 NYC dumpsters to no avail, only to come home to Scarlett, realizing she had left it in her pocket all along!
9. Eva Longoria’s Engagement Ring
Rubies are beautiful gemstones that are now becoming a hot commodity in the industry and among our hottest celebrities. Eva Longoria owns this rare, enthralling beauty, the symbol of everlasting love from her husband, Jose Antonio Baston.
In the center is a gorgeous, deep red, 8-carat round-cut ruby with a flower halo of diamonds set on a platinum band. It reportedly costs $500,000.
