Torrey DeVitto is engaged to her boyfriend, Jared LaPine. He proposed to Torrey over the Labor Day weekend at her farm home in Michigan. Even though the couple discussed getting married, the proposal was a surprise. On September 25th, Torrey shared her engagement with pictures of the couple and her gorgeous emerald-cut diamond clearly on display. Read on to learn all about it.
Proposal Deets
The proposal happened on the 5th of September during a chilled stroll on the back trails of Torrey’s Michigan farm. She wore her PJs and goat boots, and Jared surprised her by dropping to one knee and presenting her with a stunning engagement ring.
How Did They Meet?
When the family’s got you, they’ve got you! Relatives often try to set people up, but it isn’t always their matchmaking that sticks. Torrey met Jared through her cousin, and they dated for six months. They became Insta-official in June, sharing cute selfies, and Torrey posted in the comments, “I love us.” Later in the month, Torrey posted pics of her and Jared hanging out in Michigan, and Jared shared pics of them standing in a flower field with the caption, “Here’s to now.” One of the cute shots included them sharing a kiss.
More About the Couple
In addition to acting, Torrey is a musician and fashion model. Her first television role was in Dawson’s Creek in 2003. Next, she starred in “Scrubs,” “Castle,” “The King of Queens,” and “CSI: Miami.” In addition, she was in “Drake & Josh” from 2004 to 2005, and from 2005 to 2006 she starred in the series, “Beautiful People.” In 2008, she played Carrie in “One Tree Hill,” and Dr. Meredith Fell on “The Vampire Diaries” from 2012 to 2013. But perhaps Torrey is best known for her notable roles in “Chicago Med” and “Pretty Little Liars.” She has an estimated net worth of $8 million.
Jared was an assistant production coordinator and production assistant on Disney’s “K.C. Undercover” starring Zendaya. He’s a filmmaker known for “Welcome Home,” “The One That Likes You,” and “The One That Rolled Away.”

Caledonia Ring
This blue masterpiece is vintage Retro era with a 4.00-carat aquamarine emerald-cut stone set in prongs. On both sides of the main stone are rows of single-cut stones in rectangular bezels with milgrain on the edges. The main stone weighs around 0.18-carat. At the top and bottom of the ring are rolled bars, and the main stone measures around 12.08mm x 10.27mm x 7.12. The ring is circa 1940 and handcrafted in platinum.
Dewsbury Aquamarine Ring
On the theme of aquamarine, the Dewsbury holds its own with a cushion cut 1.70-carat rectangular aquamarine stone in a vivid teal saturation. Handcrafted in platinum, the main stone is surrounded by old European cut stones and two baguette-cut stones that follow the shape well. This geometric beauty has a 1.90-carat natural step-cut emerald. Surrounding the stone is a rectangular halo of old-cut stones weighing 0.68 carats. On the shoulders are a baguette-cut diamond and natural emeralds. The ring is from the Art Deco era and platinum, and the main stone measures 10.05mm x 6.40mm x 4.65mm. Ellsworth has a dazzling GIA-certified elongated cushion cut 5.01 diamond set in prongs.
