A wedding arch is an open doorway structure used as a backdrop in wedding vows. It’s a work of exquisite art and a symbol of new beginnings in marriage.

Wedding arches appear in different types of weddings, from the Christian arch and the Jewish chuppah to the Hindu Mandap arch. Wedding arches have also become a staple in outdoor weddings.

Our resident designer and wedding planner assistant, Rallye Ibanez, presents a diverse list of lovely arch designs to beautify your weddings, featuring different styles and color themes. You can buy or rent the actual product or use this guide to design your own, fully customized arch.

1. Double Hoop Garden Trellis With Thick Flower Layers

Garden Trellis Arch
Queension

If the wedding arch represents the door to your new life together as husband and wife, then the aesthetically pleasing color combinations of purple, violet, pink, white, blue, and green are perfect for its symbolism. The slightly wider and taller profile is best for outdoor weddings with bigger spaces, too.

Colorful combinations of roses, lisianthus, hydrangeas, eucalyptus, and ferns are perfect for this arch. These color palettes are dominant spring and summer colors, giving joy and prettiness to the wedding.

This extra-large arch frame from Queension is the perfect base for this kind of look. It measures 7.2 feet wide and 9.2 feet high, using heavy-duty stainless steel. This enables stable and secure framing, plus extra space to give grandiose entrances for the bride and groom.

2. Round Single Wedding Arch With Diagonal Floral Arrangement

Circle Wedding Arch
Metal Decor Crafts

A smaller, artsy frame of a wedding arch is also suitable for outdoor weddings, such as this creation by Metal Decor Crafts. Using a circular arch with accented, opposing, diagonal sides of floral bundles is a clever and balanced design style that looks very pleasing.

The color palette combo is simple and slightly rustic in theme. It’s also perfect for autumn-season outdoor weddings.

It proves to be sturdy for most outdoor and indoor settings, and can hold up to 50kg of decorations. The arch measures 80″ in arch diameter, with a rectangular bottom that measures 34″x 26″.

The rectangular base of the arch provides stability while remaining out of sight. This enables focus on the ring and its double-sided bundle of copper brown leaves, pink, orange, and white carnation or rose flowers, and green leaves as a foundation.

3. Bohemian Pampas Grass And Flowers And Inverted U Arch

Perfectly suited for weddings as a sophisticated dried flower backdrop, this piece can also be used as a serene neutral wall
Erlun

This combination of exotic-looking floral and plant arrangements from Erlun uses Pampas grass as the base of the decor. Layering over the lovely, champagne-colored, thick fuzz are roses, scabiosa pods, protea, and baby’s breath.

These bunches of Pampas grass look best for a U-shaped arch, though they are also great for rounder, wider arches as well. They also look best for spring and summer outdoor weddings. Using them in autumn will need some additional in-season flowers and darker color themes to match the season’s look.

This type of medium-sized arch with the combo of color palettes in green, pink, orange, and white is perfect for Boho-themed garden weddings. They complement most types of earthen-style wedding themes with unconventional textures and palettes. They offer refreshing styles pleasing to the eyes and hearts of the attendants.

4. Light Peach Chiffon Arch Drapes, Flowers, and Lights

Laser Cut Wraps

Boho and rustic-style autumn outdoor weddings are perfect for this next design, courtesy of Laser Cut Wraps. This drapery and floral arrangement on a square frame arch looks gorgeous.

The base arch recommended for this setup is a wooden frame. It’s a great aesthetic match for a rustic, organic autumn look, accented by minimal flowers and LEDs.

Of note is the light materials of the draping, which would require some fasteners to secure them, especially if you have a windy venue.

Combining white and light peach chiffon fabric with white and pink florals, with a lush green leafy base, creates a simple but pretty setup. Special LEDs strategically placed in the right spots create an aura of loveliness with the right amount of mystique, perfect for outdoor autumn and fall weddings.

5. Wood Moon Gate Circle Arch And Spring Flowers

The Wedding Shop

This lovely wooden 8′ x 8′ circle arch from The Wedding Shop provides an organic, earthy design, made even more adorable with this floral arrangement.

It is quite the spectacle, as steel frame arches are often covered in floral layers; With wood, you can make it minimalist, almost bare, or with many parts exposed.

This arch is a rental, so couples who don’t wish to keep it and have no space for it afterward can save on money too. Matching custom drapes and florals are available as add ons to get the perfect look for your wedding.

This particular arrangement brings together natural wood grain motifs with a lemon yellow, white, and orange floral arrangement, with a base of green. The result is pretty and bright, perfect for the summer and spring seasons, or a beach wedding.

6. Layered Garden Arch With Pink Curtain Drapes

Thickened Anti-toppling Garden Arch
Solkier

The medium-sized profile and wide width U-shape of this beautiful baseless metal arch from Solkier is perfect for intimate weddings, indoor, our outdoor.

In this case, the beachside wedding comes alive with layers of light pastel florals consisting of roses, peonies, and hydrangeas, with light green leaves. The pink-to-light-champagne left and right see-through drapes add the perfect accenting to this arch.

For other settings and seasons, you can match it with seasonal flowers. You can also customize it with other elements for your chosen theme or color palettes.

Pastel color wedding themes are light, easy on the eyes, and pure-looking, adding a touch of graceful beauty and innocence.

Its side widths are wide enough and stable, and it has good load-bearing despite not having a base on both sides.

7. Ivory Flowers with Greenery Archway

Ivory Flowers with Greenery Archway
Love Gold Events

The simple two-color combination of white roses and vine green willow leaves from Love Gold Events looks superb.

If you want this specific arch, the example we used is a rental, complete with the floral and leaf designs. It measures 7.2′ high x 8.5′ wide.

As opposed to colorful options we explored earlier, wedding arches can be simpler and smaller-sized, and perfect for indoor settings too, either as an additional decorative art installation or as a main part of the wedding layout.

In this example, you can go minimal with a smaller arch with white flowers in the inner rim and greenery at the outer rim. Or you can also combine other types of flowers and organics based on color palettes that match your wedding’s look. Either way, it looks elegant and lovely, and the white-green combo is a proven 2 color palette perfect for weddings.

8. Cherry Blossom Arch Wedding Decoration

Flower Stand Decorative Home Garden Decor Artificial Fake Flowers
Lucky Wedding Store

This elegant all-white Cherry Blossom Arch from Lucky Wedding Store is a single-color minimalist option. This is a perfect decor or main layout element for an all-white or winter wedding theme.

The arch here is split into left and right arches. This gives the couple freedom to resize the space and layout, widen the gap, or add other design elements, making it a more flexible product than the fixed options available online.

The example we used from the store uses artificial flowers, as Cherry blossoms are rare in nature, blooming and lasting only for two weeks after winter is over. It signifies new beginnings and renewal, a beautiful element that makes weddings more meaningful. Couples and wedding designers can use substitute flowers of their choice to recreate the featured look.

9. Triangle Wood Arch With Drapes And Flowers

Yaseingoo

Our curated list of arches not only focuses on U-styled and square models. This wooden triangle arch from Yaseingoo offers an unconventional wedding arch that looks amazing and also styles well with simple wedding floral arrangements, either minimal or fully decked in layers of gorgeous flowers.

You can use this arch option for unconventional arch layouts, Boho-style themes, or other modern-styled weddings.

The composition and design for this particular product we used has the classic green and white wedding color theme with a minimalist design. However, the wood material leaves it open for other color combinations and designs, including those that leave parts bare showing the wooden organic color.

The material is lighter than its steel variations and provides a stable base with its side planks. Wood’s organic grain textures and design, with the earthy colors, are a perfect match to the popular white and green floral and leaf combos. It also looks amazing with colorful floral combinations as well.

10. Square Arch With Minimal Flowers And Pink Drapes

Flower Arch With Drapes
Ling’s Moment

Your wedding arch can also be square-shaped, such as this adorable set from Ling’s Moment. This opens up different possibilities when creating a gorgeous layout and adding motifs.

The particular product we used as an example comes with the drapes and flowers, for an easy setup. Drapes dominate the design, covering the frames. Together with the minimal floral design, it uses the analogous and monochromatic combination of pink, white, and rose with the addition of green leaves as accents. This arch design looks beautiful for both indoor and outdoor locations.

The combination of different pink hues with white silk sheer drapery looks amazing, accented by the framing of the included realistic silk flowers. It proves to be a lovely combo, with arrangement motifs open to different placements.

11. Heptagonal Wedding Arch With Flowers And White Drapes

Heptagonal Wedding Arch
Shinoske

A heptagonal arch may sound unusual on paper and online, but it’s a wonderful option for your wedding arch. It also doesn’t look out of place or strange.

This unusual yet beauteous design from Shinoske offers different ways to frame and decorate your wedding, creating a beautiful arch frame made of gold-colored iron with a crossbar base for stable sturdiness.

You can incorporate white or light, pastel-colored, sleek drapes on this arch, and accent it with beautiful flowers that color-match its gold base. In this case, gold goes well with the complementary and analogous color palettes of light blue, pink, white, red, and light yellow flowers with a base of light yellow brown pampas grass.

12. Gold Circle Wedding Arch With Minimal Flowers

Circle wedding metal arch
Hobby Lobby Store

This thin-band, yellow gold circle arch from Hobby Lobby Store is a great minimalist option that looks elegant. The thin frame and wider dimension allows for decorative floral arrangements with open spaces, with the gold as an accent.

A rose gold backdrop will look amazing with varied-color-palette flowers and leaves in light blue, red, pink, orange, and white. Gold serves as a color equalizer with different color combinations.

Alternatively, there are also color combinations that look great as well, such as purple, red, white, and green, along with the gold.

The simple elegance of this ring-like creation also looks great with some minimal floral accenting. Pastel colored flowers with underlying green layers. This arch looks impressive with minimal or fully layered flower arrangements all throughout.

13. Arch Drapes in Lavender and Burnt Orange

Unique Arch Drapes
Ling’s Moment

Another lovely entry from Ling’s Moment is this square frame arch that uses white and orange sheer drapes. The combination of pastel purple, pastel orange, white, and red florals with orange ferns creates a beautiful accent. Often, minimal arrangements with dominating drapes give a beautiful and balanced visual.

Another plus point for this square arch is its rustic composition, featuring light colored wood with homemade ties securing each joint. Square organic frames do look great for both indoor and outdoor use.

The combination of the floral accents presents lovely autumn and fall colors: white, cream, orange, purple, copper, sepia, and white organics, plus Pampas grass. These are high-quality, realistic polyester/silk blend flowers and are durable, and are already included in the set, for maximum convenience.

Although the specific color combination here is more in tune with autumn, they can also work for other seasons. The organic and rustic elements make it easier to match.

14. Camille Floral Arch Pillars With Cool-Toned Flowers

Floral Arch Pillars
Blue Blossom

What’s unique about Blue Blossom’s offering of these beautiful Camille Floral Pillars is their separate side-by-side setting with no actual closed circle. These types of wedding arches add flexibility to design, layout, and spacing options not available from closed-shape arches.

Then the serene color palette is light, easy on the eyes, and very bridal, using the classic white and light and dark green combination. The addition of baby blue flower accents creates a lovely balance to this unique arch.

The flower arrangement includes ivory roses, white and blue delphinium, ivory veronica, white ranunculus, white anemone, and ivory roses, plus seeded and sage spiral eucalyptus beneath as the foundation.

15. Fresh Flowers And Wooden Double Hoop Arch

Boho Wedding Arch
Flower Moxie

Although many floral arches feature artificial reusable flowers, there is nothing quite like fresh flowers for your decor. Many couples still want fresh organics. While not reusable and a little more delicate, they provide fresh scents and look beautiful even if they will only last a few days.

Going for a floral decor-focused arch is another great design idea. And you can make it better with fresh real ones, where you can choose different types.

Local flower sources or ordering through services such as Flower Moxie helps bring more life to arches, especially with the organic beauty of wooden wedding arches, although not exclusively limited to them.

Ordering organic flowers also lets you choose the specific flowers that you want for your arch decor. Or, you can get a basic, inexpensive arch and focus on the flower decor and color combinations for maximum prettiness.

This layout and composition are perfect for Boho style and garden weddings, where the emphasis is on organic and slightly rustic beauty. Wood and colorful flowers combine beautifully, proving the versatility of natural wood with white, pink, and yellow flowers with a green foliage base.

16. Arch Pillars With Roses And Leafy Branches

Dusty Rose

Our collection features the unique composition of split arches. They make for a wonderful choice for design-savvy couples who want an unconventional and customizable approach.

Here we can see that it works great with the heavy layered floral look of this design. The half-moon curved pillars provide a fresh design, perfect for both indoor and outdoor weddings.

This is another non-closed full circle wedding arch set consisting of two half curved arches from Dusty Rose.

The color palettes are impeccable and look very pleasing to the eyes. The monochromatic and analogous pairing of colors works well, with pink, white, red, and burgundy silk roses against the backdrop of dark green.

These color palettes are good for different types of seasons and are also easily matched for indoor settings. Its color palette combination matches fall and autumn hues in nature with rich, darker colors. While the presentation is in an indoor setting, it is also very compatible with outdoor wedding events.

17. Hexagon Wood Arch With Spring Flowers And Greens

Hexagon Wood Arch
TAKEKIT

We offer another unconventionally shaped entry in this curated list: the double hexagon arch, layered with a unique look. A wooden version such as this TAKEKIT double hexagon wooden arch makes it compatible with different designs.

Heavily layered, or with sparse floral accenting, it looks magnificent with its wooden backdrop. It stands out from the typical rounded or squared wedding arches we often see.

This particular presentation shows a lovely combination of white, pink, and champagne roses with a lush dark green foundation of leaves. These color palettes are a perfect match to the natural brown wood layers.

This double interlocked hexagon design creates opportunities for a wide array of designs and layout approaches. The size is also just right, not too big or expansive, perfect for small gardens and outdoor weddings.

18. White Circle Wedding Arch With Flowers And Lights

Circular Wedding Arch
Wayfair

Double hoop arches like this Luvodi piece from Wayfair are a great foundation for creating unique-looking arrangements. The thin frames and supporting bars in between not only make it more stable, but also create spaces that are suitable for different arrangements.

Here, we can see the collection of flowers, leaves, and other organics with longer and odd shapes in bunches you can’t arrange in a single-layer arch. This enables more textures and arrangement options and additional decorations and designs, such as LEDs.

This presentation also shows how the combination of its thin white metal frames looks gorgeous with the bundles of analogous color palettes with yellow, orange, and champagne flowers accented by a few white ones. The underlying light green foliage, pointy, rust-colored ferns, with sparse lighting, create dramatic, Instagram-ready imagery perfect for nighttime or late afternoon settings.

19. Golden Pentagon Arch With Light Colored Flowers

Pentagon Metal Arch
HLTBWHHOME

Another unconventional wedding arch design is a yellow gold Pentagon arch. The higher profile and uncommon shape work, such as on this beautiful piece from HLTBWHHOME. This nonconventional approach to your wedding arch layout makes it easy to match colorwise, with the gold creating warm tones as the backdrop.

Yellow gold matches the mixed pastel color palettes in the floral arrangements of white, baby blue, light yellow, and pink flowers. The accents from bundles of light green and dark green underneath complement it well. This particular combination makes it perfect for spring and summer outdoor weddings.

Also, the layout with lots of spaces in between creates a balanced harmony, making your outdoor garden or space even more lovely for your wedding. You can also layer it heavily while keeping some of the gold base as the accent this time.

20. White-Draped Minimalist Monochromatic Square Wedding Arch

metal square balloon arch holder is perfect for your garden, perfect solution for a blank background, and anything you like can be decorated on
Melos

Minimalist square wedding arches are also great, especially for heavily decorated indoor weddings, garden weddings, or simpler ceremonies. In this example, the white drapery dominates the design, and the use of monochromatic colored floral and organic accents is a nice match.

The drapery and floral arrangement with this gold-colored metal frame from Melos uses only 3 colors. However, it still creates a lovely style that works just as well as elaborate and colorful arch designs.

The simple and beautiful arrangement of white silk drapery, with bits of gold peeking out in spaces, plus light brown ferns, white flowers, and deep green leaves, creates a lovely arch. It is perfect for both indoor and outdoor wedding layouts, proving the “less is more” approach also works and is just as elegant.

21. Small Arch With Minimal Pastel Floral Arrangement

Ling’s Moment

Smaller-scale U-shaped double hoop arches in white, such as this piece by Ling’s Moment, are perfect for minimalist designs. In this case, it pairs beautifully with pastel floral arrangements, with sparse layouts and accents. The white frames are not hidden, but part of the layout.

Pastel floral arrangements using the color palettes light pink, baby blue, and light violet flowers, accented by a foundation of light green leaves and branches, are perfect for a summer or spring outdoor wedding. This arrangement also looks perfect for indoor events.

White arch backdrops are common color elements for weddings, but they are easy to match with a number of color combinations. From simple pastel combinations to color-heavy arrangements with richer and darker colors, they give you many highly compatible design options.

22. White Arch With Layers Of Flowers And White Drapes

Wayfair

This elegant arch with lovely vine-shaped brackets and curved motifs by Luvodi from Wayfair is another pretty variation of the classic white arch. The use of white drapery with a balanced ratio of pastel-colored springtime flowers with greenery is a perfect match for outdoor weddings.

In this presentation, we pair a mid-parted, white satin or silk drapery pleated on both sides, then layered with pink, white, and yellow flowers. The light green leaves and buds are a perfect base for these floral arrangements. Beautiful bushes and shrubs of varying greens, fresh-cut grass, plus white candelabra and light grey flooring create ornate and beautiful supporting backdrops.

Alternatively, you can leave the top parts with the vine and spiral motifs bare, with the upper designs showing. You can also layer them with colorful flowers and greenery, and they will work beautifully.

23. Half Moon Wedding Stand With Flowers And Greens

Half moon Wedging arch
Leilani

Not all arches need to be whole shapes or frames, as seen in this half-moon-themed, standalone, gold arch by Leilani. Measuring 7.5 feet, it is a towering and majestic beauty. It’s a unique arch that stands out from most of the shapes we’ve featured so far in this list.

However, unlike other arches with a wide middle space to walk through, it’s more of a backdrop, but you can get another one to create a walk-through arch.

That said, a half moon arch works best for afternoon and evening weddings, and also as a main backdrop for your wedding reception.

Gold matches the color palettes presented in this layout, featuring pink and white floral arrangements with round green leaves and fern accents, surrounded by ivory candles and black-framed lamps, against the indoor backdrop of white walls and a light brown flooring base.

When used outdoors, it’s a great match for light or pastel colored backgrounds.

24. Floral Top And Layered Drapes On A Square Arch

Square Metal Arch
Fomcet

Square frames are classic wedding arch staples. Together with layers of drapery and balanced florals, they provide a beautiful bridal design for outdoor and indoor weddings.

As we see in this offering from Fomcet, its towering 8-by-8-foot frame is commanding, creating a wedding stage set design with the curtain-style drape arrangement. The addition of floral arrangements with vases and rectangular gold frames below recreates a chapel or church wedding in an outdoor setting.

The cinema-curtain style of drapery in white silk, with low accent knotting, layered with pink backing drapes, and cascading beaded strings create the perfect backdrop.

The floral arrangements in this presentation focus on the top part, creating a unique, framed look that’s well balanced. It follows the color palette of the curtain-styled drape by combining a predominantly white bundle of flowers, accented by pink, white, and champagne flowers, with minimal greens in the mix. Strewn at the bottom are other decors in pink, white, champagne, and gold, with a dominant green and brown background.

25. Double-Rail Draped Floral Wedding Arch

Kogan

This white, double hoop circle arch from Kogan is another great design that’s perfect for both outdoor and indoor wedding events.

Wide circle wedding arches create more space for different types of set designs. Double hoops, meanwhile, add depth to the design possibilities, creating a thick side profile for layering flowers and other decor.

In this case, we see that the white metal hoops are exposed and part of the grand design, and very compatible with the color palettes and drapery style. The vertical rectangular drape of white silk creates a central design that balances the circle frame and diagonally placed flower accents.

The two-point diagonal accenting of the flower arrangements creates a lovely balance, using white and champagne flowers with deep green and elongated leaves and branches. The light brown Pampas grass provides lovely textures and shapes, adding to the nice color palettes.

26. Minimalist Square Wood Arch With White Drape, White Flowers, Green Leaves

Sojock

This Sojock arch set uses the classic white and green bridal color palette, matching the artificial but organic-looking wood frames with a balanced appeal. It is simple and minimalist, and looks just as elegant. It uses wrinkle-resistant polyester fabric, retaining the look and arrangement of its frame.

In this visual presentation, we see that the draping style features a downward, convex-shaped style, which then flows to each side, resembling inverted trumpet pillars. The top placement of the white flowers and green leaves of varying shapes and sizes creates a classic bridal arch.

Minimalist-styled arches are best used in outdoor weddings and receptions. They often match well with more detailed backgrounds and settings, such as a garden or church with busier designs. These combinations create a fitting contrast keeping it elegant.

27. Light Purple Drapes, Flower Top, And Crystal Bead Swag On A U-Shaped Arch

Leilani

Couples and wedding designers can explore different drapery, floral patterns, and color palettes to set their wedding arch apart from the common and usual styles. A great example is this Leilani drape set in light purple or lavender, with crystal beaded swags in the center, and a thick layer of purple, crimson, pink, and white flowers with green accents.

In this visual presentation, we see a balanced 3-tier arrangement, with the purple drapery fabrics covering the arch base design. Then, lovely purple, hot pink, and white flowers with minimal green leaf accents frame its top. The beaded string motifs complete the gorgeous layout in the middle.

This arrangement looks more artsy and adventurous, with a modern Boho edge, and looks just as adorable as many other designs and layouts we’ve seen so far.

28. ” Ever After ” Floral Design On A Small Square Wood Arch

Native Poppy

The “Ever After” fresh floral arrangement from Native Poppy combines beautiful hot pink and champagne flowers, with irregular but lovely green textures and leaves. This combination is a great match with the thin dark brown frame that peeks out in minimal doses. Plus, using fresh flowers gives lovely scents to your set design and enables the couple to choose specific types to go into the final arrangement.

This springtime color combination proves to be effective in bringing out a spring-themed design using a smaller square arch. A thicker, layered approach with green leaf branches sticking out works perfectly with this size. It’s perfect for Boho-style themes, garden weddings, and most indoor and outdoor events.

29. Circle Wedding Arch With Pampas Grass And Thick Greens

We have different minimalist-styled and colored entries in this list, but the color options and arrangements can greatly vary. This two-toned circle arch arrangement from The Wedding House is a very beautiful example. It doesn’t even include any flowers.

The light champagne Pampas grass and thick greenery are a perfect match. It’s a visually pleasing combination, combined half and half, looking much like nature’s portal. It’s gorgeous, even made more beautiful by the surrounding brown tree trunks, green grass, and champagne colored flooring.

For this type of arrangement, a wider and bigger arch works perfectly. This allows thick layering of the organic decor as the arch frame disappears within.

30. Square Arch With Heavy Layers Of Flowers And Leaves

As always, our list finishes strong on a high note with our last entry from 46&Spruce. This square steel, double-layered frame is 8 feet in height, 10 feet wide, and 13.5 inches deep. It’s a joy to layer with a bundle of pretty floral arrangements.

As we can see here, the layout is pretty much balanced in greenery, flowers, and color palettes used.

The lovely combination of hot pink, light pink, baby blue, light violet, and white flowers looks bodacious, along with heavy greenery in the mix. They all completely cover and layer over the frame. Then, the backdrop of the home adds more colors. Light green cut grass, white pavement, ivory windows, plus light, regular grey, and light brown textured bricks create the perfect backdrop.
