Jonny Fairplay from “Survivor” has proposed to his girlfriend of two years, Jessica Kendrick. Jonny popped the question in September 2019 in Clearwater Beach, Florida on a balcony beside a neon purple sign saying, “Marry Me.” A single heart separated the two words. After Jessica said “Yes,” the couple celebrated with champagne.
How Did They Meet?
Jonny met Jessica at CAMI Greensboro. Jessica was a medical assistant who offered him free Botox. As he’s afraid of needles, Jessica held his hand throughout the procedure. In two years of dating, they haven’t stopped holding hands since. Isn’t that sweet?
Who Is Jonny Fairplay?
Jonny, a.k.a. Jon Dalton, is a former professional wrestler and art consultant. He rose to fame as a reality TV star. Jonny competed twice on the reality show “Survivor,” landing third place in “Survivor: Pearl Islands ” and coming in at twentieth place in “Survivor: Micronesia.” On the Pearl Islands season, Jonny told what was described as the greatest lie in “Survivor” history. Jonny said that his grandmother had died, thus generating sympathy and giving him an advantage in the game. The other contestants let Jonny win the challenge so he could spend time with his friend Dan. The remaining contestant didn’t know the truth until the end of the season, but the TV audience was told that Jonny’s grandmother was alive at home and watching “Jerry Springer!”
In 2008, Jonny was the only castaway who accepted the offer to participate in the sixteenth season of “Survivor: Micronesia – Fans vs. Favorites.” He asked to be voted off in the first episode so he could get home to his pregnant girlfriend at the time. Jonny was inducted into the Xfinity “Survivor Hall of Fame” in 2013 – the only non-winner inducted from the Class of 2013. We can certainly see what made Jessica fall in love with him!
