Longtime sweethearts Sharelle Rosado and Chad Johnson got engaged on January 7, 2023. They already had a one-year-old daughter, Serenity, by the time Chad proposed to her.
After more than two and a half years of dating, the couple made things official. Or rather, Chad finally made the move to secure Sharelle’s yes and “put a ring on it.”
To make the proposal smooth and unassuming, Mr. “Ocho Cinco” hid it all behind his 45th birthday with a small group of 20 family and friends. He booked Bar One in Miami, Florida, and the stage was set.
Then, Chad got on one knee and proposed with a ring that has a 7.5 carat oval-cut diamond with a halo of small round-cut diamonds on a platinum band.
Sharelle was pleasantly surprised, telling People, “I’m honestly shocked! I’m at a loss for words. This was absolutely beautiful, and to see my family and friends here to celebrate our love, that really did it for me.”

How Much Is the Ring Worth?
Our phone conversation with Benjamin Khordipour, G.D., the Gemological Institute of America-certified gemologist, author, lecturer, and jewelry specialist, helped us to understand its professional evaluation. The price tag? A huge cool amount of $245,000.
The focal point of its pricing is the 7.50-carat high-quality diamond. Its substantial size is a main price driver, and its size and weight are rare. There’s also the intricate work and placement of small round diamonds in its halo. This demands precise craftsmanship.
Chad and Sharelle never disclosed the name of the jewelry designer, but the level of craftsmanship and composition is very solid and clean.
Love and the Power of Instagram DMs

Sharelle is a realtor, a US Army veteran, an entrepreneur, and a social media influencer. The owner of Allure Realty, she actually pitched the idea of her reality TV show Selling Tampa in 2021. She knew it was going to be a popular show.
Sharelle got in touch with producers and other television industry people. She eventually pitched her idea via DMs to the right person, TV show producer Adam DiVello.
The premise of an all-female and black-owned luxury waterfront real estate agency was a great idea. Netflix picked it up.
Her ability to pitch ideas and negotiate with Hollywood execs and Netflix presentation carried over to her love life, so it seems. She already had the hots for the NFL star and slid into his DMs.
She spoke about it on the I Am Woman podcast: “He was always a crush of mine. For years. Sexy, tall, chocolate. I slid into his DMs, and he responded like two seconds later.”
They exchanged numbers and became fast friends, but she eventually stopped talking to the NFL wide receiver. But in 2020, they reignited their spark.
They soon became Instagram official in November 2020 after she posted a pic of them together.
Chad’s Lovely Proposal

After more than 2 years of dating, Chad finally proposed to the love of his life on January 7, 2023. The two welcomed their beautiful daughter, Serenity “Hurricane” Paula, on Jan. 2, 2022.
This made their union an extended family; Sharelle has 3 kids, Ariana, Marcus, and Denim, while Chad had 7, Jicyra, Chade’, Cha’iel, Savi, Florida, Serenity, and Chad II.
Sharelle told People, “I always wanted a big family, so I think with this last one, she’s just the perfect number to finish it off.”
She found out she was pregnant with their daughter during the shooting of her reality show, saying, “It was shocking. I think I was crying and laughing at the same time.”
Chad and Sharelle were with friends and family that night in what she believed was a birthday bash for the NFL star. He suddenly got on one knee and proposed to her with the beautiful engagement ring, surprising her. They kissed and hugged and celebrated the lovely moment with their loved ones.
Oval-Cut Diamonds and Their Features

Oval-cut diamonds have a high level of brilliance and fire. Many jewelry buyers like its fancy shape and sparkling properties.
Its elongated shape also creates a larger-than-actual visual. It runs parallel to the fingers, making them appear slimmer.
This diamond shape is also quite versatile for different types of settings and placements. A halo around it adds extra shimmer and makes it even more prominent. This also works for other diamond variations or colors, or other oval-cut stones. They also look great with 4 or 6 prongs and bezel settings.
An oval-cut diamond is cheaper than round cut diamonds. Round-cut diamonds are more in demand and a common choice. But they are more expensive because they waste more material when cutting from the raw stone.
However, one thing oval-cut diamonds often have is the risk of having a bowtie effect. The bowtie effect is the dark shadow stretched across the center. This is one of the things you need to inspect when choosing and buying these stones. It has a huge impact on the diamond’s beauty; however, some buyers like this element.
An oval-shaped diamond easily covers inclusions or blemishes and is often eye-clean. It won’t be especially noticeable near the round end.
An SI1 or SI2 (Small Inclusions) clarity level oval diamond is already good and recommended. You can choose a higher clarity, but the difference won’t be visible to the naked eye.
For colored oval-cut diamonds with a J or K color grade, they look good with a rose gold or yellow gold band. For colorless or near-colorless diamonds, such as color grade H and higher, they look best with a platinum or white gold band.
