The Deets on Kaity Biggar’s Engagement Ring and On-TV Proposal
Reality TV personalities and now real-life sweethearts Kaity Biggar and Zach Shallcross became an engaged couple during the finale of “The Bachelor.” Zach is the show’s bachelor who fell in love with and chose Kaity to marry.
Our sweethearts fell in love over the course of the 2 month long season with 11 episodes.
He got down on one knee and proposed forever to the beautiful ER and travel nurse. She couldn’t say no to his love and the stunning ring, which has a 3-carat oval-cut diamond with a halo and a three-sided pavé diamond band of more than 150 round-cut diamonds.

Our phone call with Benjamin Khordipour G.D., the Gemological Institute of America-certified gemologist and jewelry specialist of NYC’s Estate Diamond Jewelry, gave his professional appraisal on the celebrity jewelry. He placed its value at $130,000.
Kaity’s engagement ring has premium elements that dictate its high value. First off is the 3.10-carat oval diamond, a stunner paired with a pavé diamond halo. It’s also set on a thick, three-sided pavé platinum band.
The expertise in craftsmanship and expert placement of many small diamonds add to the total cost. Neil Lane’s expert design and craftsmanship are truly to behold, making this one-of-a-kind engagement ring.
An oval diamond can easily hide inclusions and blemishes and is often eye-clean. This means you can get lower-grade and more affordable diamonds that already look good and have no visible imperfections.
Most of the high-grade oval diamonds will need the closest magnification and professional inspection to gauge their real clarity levels and color grades. Even common lower levels such as SI1 or SI2 (Small Inclusions) will do for most buyers. They won’t be different from high-grade diamonds due to non-visible issues at eye-clean levels.
How Kaity Became The Bachelor’s Choice

From the get-go, Zach shared that Kaity caught his attention. Aside from brightening the room, he knew she was compassionate and kind. Kaity supported and cared for him when he tested positive for COVID-19.
Zach was able to make the right choice because of the last chance date. This gave him the extra time he needed to get to know Kaity better.
Zach then realized Kaity was the one for him. That fateful night sealed the deal for him. His thoughts were now clear, as he confessed, “It’s you. It’s always been you. And I want to spend the rest of my life with this woman.”
Thankfully, the feeling was mutual. Kaity Biggar accepted Zach’s proposal and won Season 27. He handed out his final rose to her, got down on one knee, and proposed to Kaity on screen live during the captivating season finale event on March 27, 2023.
After the climactic season finale, the couple shared an update on their relationship after the show’s end. They were happy and in love and planned to move to Austin, Texas, this summer.
Now that they have more privacy, they have more time to enjoy each other’s company without being in front of a camera. They also planned to get married in 2025.
Kaity told People, “We were quite isolated. We can’t go to a coffee shop, can’t go to a restaurant or anything like that. We’ve seen each other quite a few times and we get these happy couple weekends. I’ve never gotten sick of him, so it’s been great. All I want is more time with him. When he gets to Austin, we’re just going to try and live this normal life that we’ve been wanting to for so long. We’re super excited.”
Kaity and Zach, Forever
The 2 months of Season 27 were enough for the lovely couple to know each other better. They found out they were a match, and there was enough mutual understanding to go from there.
The couple had more time together, this time private, after the show wrapped in late 2022. Before, they had to be extra discreet during those days, hiding in public and avoiding paparazzi and press members.
Kaity shared their engagement photos on TikTok, exclaiming “I love loving you.” She also shared a video on TikTok featuring their moments after the show’s filming had ended with her caption, “A tiny glimpse of the past 4+ months with Zach.” They played video games, danced, had PDA’s, and spent quality time with each other.
Before “The Bachelor,” Zach failed to find true lasting love in another reality show, “The Bachelorette.” At first, he thought Rachel was the one, but a few red flags made him send himself home, and he skipped the rose-giving final ceremony.
Their rocky road even furthered into a non-future together, after a Fantasy Suite date made him realize they were not compatible and didn’t share many important common interests and views in life.
Zach felt lost, but decided to give love a go again. He participated with renewed interest and an open mind in “The Bachelor”. Zach explained to People, “I went into this whole thing wanting to find my best friend, wanting to find my future, and you can’t force that.”
He maintained his positivity, saying, “If it’s going to happen, it’s going to happen. If it’s not, it’s not. If you let your heart figure it out, the right thing will happen. I truly believe that. I was following what was right for my heart and my gut.”
