Details on Talulah Riley’s Engagement Ring and Thomas Brodie-Sangster’s Proposal
The Westworld and Pride and Prejudice actress Talulah Riley’s engagement ring is simple and elegant, a reflection of her and her hubby’s low-key, laid-back values. It does feature a 3-carat round brilliant-cut diamond secured with a prong setting and crowned on a platinum ring.
The hot blonde from Inception and the voice of Ferb in Phineas and Ferb are a romantic match, commemorating their engagement with a lovely IG snap. Their proposal and engagement announcement happened on July 27, 2023.
Thomas proposed to her when they were on a romantic gondola ride on a river. He surprised her with a proposal and presented her with the simple yet stunning engagement ring. Talulah immediately said yes.
Thomas captioned his Instagram post celebrating his sweetheart, saying, “Happy to announce that Talulah and I are engaged. Love is all around.” Talulah exclaimed on her Instagram post, “Very happy to share that after two years of dating, Thomas Brodie Sangster and I are engaged!”
Talulah and Thomas’ Romantic Journey
Our lovely couple were not in the same circles before, and had previous relationships they had to go through so they can meet and fall in love.
The couple met at the set of Disney+’s Pistol mini-series, in March 2021. The 6 part series was about the creation and dissolution of the UK’s legendary punk band, The Sex Pistols. Danny Boyle the visionary director behind Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days Later (and its sequels), The Beach, et al, directed this series.
Thomas played their manager, and also fashion designer, Malcolm McLaren. Talulah played renowned punk and new wave fashion designer. They were the couple who helped usher in the early punk and new wave fashion in the late 70s.
While the punk and new wave designer couple had a chaotic and intense but short lived relationship, Talulah and Thomas were soon dating and vibing much in real life. Press and paparazzi soon reported lovely public sightings in London later that August.
Going Public
On March 11, 2022, they made their red carpet debut at the British Academy Film Awards Gala Dinner. They also attended their series’ US screening in NYC on May 18, and the global premiere in London, England on May 22.
Speaking with The Times, she reflected on their 1 year relationship, saying, “We hadn’t really acknowledged each other as a romantic possibility or potential until the moment that we both did,” she told the publication. “And it was the same moment a number of months after having worked together and been good friends.”
2022 was the year of their many public appearances as a couple, including some adorable PDA moments.
Thomas was in a relationship with actress Isabella Melling until 2016, while Talulah was previously married to Elon Musk, twice.
Elon remained on amicable terms with Elon, and he even posted “Congratulations!” complete with a heart emoji on their engagement announcement.
“He’s a great friend. He looks out for me. We are in a happy place now, where we’re good to each other, which is really nice. I have here utmost love for him,” she explained in her book, The Quickening Riley.

The Beauty of Round Cut Diamonds
Thomas went for a more common but highly beautiful diamond cut that creates lovely light interactions and lots of sparkling power.
Round-cut diamond rings are classic, timeless pieces. This type of cut and its symmetry produces a high amount of white light reflection or brilliance.
Round cuts are a popular choice amongst celebrities and one of the best options for engagement rings. It is versatile for different settings, combinations, and types of metals on the ring it will sit on.
